Job description

Dexmate is building the foundation for physical AI — a unified platform that combines high-quality robotic hardware with a universal Physical AI OS, making robots as easy to build and deploy as software. Today, robotics is fragmented, slow, and closed: most builders are forced to reinvent the same stack again and again, and most ideas never make it past the prototype stage. We exist to change that. Our mission is to democratize robotics by lowering the barrier to entry, delivering a plug-and-play platform for developers, researchers, and enterprises, and cultivating an open ecosystem that accelerates the evolution of physical AI. If you want to help shape the next layer of human capability — and believe the future of robotics should be built together, not in isolation — we'd love to build it with you.

Responsibilities

As a Robotics Engineer, you'll play a central role in delivering reliable, safe, and capable robots at scale. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software boundaries to bring up, integrate, and harden our robot systems — diagnosing issues on real hardware and feeding those findings back into our architecture, manufacturing, and QA processes.

  • Deploy and validate learned policies and control algorithms on physical robots — integrate models into the real-time control stack, tune for real-world performance, and close the loop between policy, controller, and hardware
  • Integrate and test robotic systems end-to-end, spanning both actuation and perception hardware
  • Triage and debug cross-disciplinary issues across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software layers
  • Bring up, characterize, and evaluate key components such as sensors, actuators, IMUs, encoders, and force/torque sensors
  • Help define component and subsystem performance requirements, and build test plans that ensure reliable operation across diverse tasks and environments

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with complex robotic or electromechanical systems, deployed on real hardware
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python
  • Strong system-level understanding of robotics hardware, firmware, and software layers
  • Hands-on experience with sensor and actuator integration and characterization (IMUs, encoders, force/torque sensors, motors)
  • Deep familiarity with standard diagnostic tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer)
  • Proven track record bringing up and validating systems on physical robots — not just in simulation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep experience with communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, USB, MIPI, GMSL
  • Experience calibrating computer vision and perception systems
  • Familiarity with real-time computing constraints: deterministic execution, and latency budgets
  • Experience with simulation environments such as MuJoCo, or Isaac Sim
  • Background with legged, manipulating, or humanoid robots — dynamic, contact-rich systems
