HIRING BAR MANAGER, SERVICE CREW

More Than Just a Bar Located within the vibrant Margaret Market, Margie the Market Bar is a neighbourhood destination where great drinks, good food, live music, and community come together.

We're looking for

1) an experienced Bar Manager

2) Service Crew, Waiter & Waitress

who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys building teams, and wants the opportunity to grow a business, not simply manage one. This is a leadership role with real ownership over operations, guest experience, events, and commercial performance. If you thrive in a hands-on environment, love connecting with people, and enjoy creating memorable experiences, we'd love to meet you.

MANAGER: Key Responsibilities

Business & Growth

  • Drive revenue growth through exceptional guest experiences and customer engagement

Develop promotions, events, collaborations, and community partnerships Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability

  • Work closely with ownership on business strategy and venue development

Operations

  • Oversee daily bar operations and service standards
  • Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance 2
  • Monitor stock levels, wastage, and cost control measures
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate bar staff
  • Build a positive, high-performance culture
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and team performance
  • Handle customer and staff issues professionally and effectively

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Good understanding of beverage operations, inventory management, and cost controls
  • Experience with POS systems and reporting
  • Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and commercially minded
