Job description

Full-time / Part-time · Utrecht

We're looking for a medior Front-end Developer who is ready to take their skills to the next level, and help us build complex, data-driven user interfaces on the web from our studio in Utrecht.

Join our team

CLEVER°FRANKE is an enthusiastic, multi-disciplinary team of 40+ people with 15 different nationalities from across the world and we use English as a primary language to communicate and collaborate. We are interaction designers, visual designers, developers, project managers, data analysts and others. All with a passion for what we do. We are curious about the world around us and apply the same curiosity to our work and projects.

As a medior Front-end Developer , you will work on cutting-edge projects that make a real difference. Your main responsibility is the development of the UI, UX and visualizations of our client- and internal projects. We are looking for someone who is curious, embraces emerging technologies, and exploring modern development practices, including AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows that enhance the way we design, build and maintain software. You will work in synergy with our design team and other developers. You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment, have a keen, analytical eye and a pragmatic but flexible approach.

Our tech stack is ever evolving. We are not married to any specific technology and are pragmatic: we choose the stack that fits the job best. We are always open to fresh perspectives on building, scaling, and maintaining software projects. We’re continuously exploring and innovating, and like to work with emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR and physical interfaces.

Though we always adapt our approach to the requirements of a specific project, the development workflow of a typical C°F project will generally include submitting pull requests that trigger CI/CD pipelines with various code-quality checks and automated deployment to a serverless platform like Vercel or other cloud platforms. Team members will perform code reviews to safeguard code-quality as well as QA reviews to make sure all work we do meets the high quality standard that we set for ourselves.

What you bring

As a Medior Front-end Developer, you bring at least 2-3 years of experience in front-end development. You have an innovative mindset, eagerness to explore new technologies, work independently and are interested in coaching/mentoring fellow colleagues on projects.

Next to that, you will bring:

Your ambition, eagerness to learn and a sharp, analytical eye for quality;

A strong sense of ownership for anything you build;

Experience writing HTML, CSS and Typescript;

Experience with one of the following or similar frameworks: React/Vue/Svelte or similar;

Excellent communication skills in English.

We’d be especially excited if you also have experience in:

Specific styling solutions like CSS-in-JS, Tailwind

Libraries such as d3, Three.js, Tanstack, Shadcn, Radix UI, etc.

Emerging technologies like AR/VR and AI

Backend skills & technologies: (headless) CMSes, API development, databases, search, infrastructure.

You’re welcome at CLEVER°FRANKE regardless of your appearance, identity or background. It’s not a place you have to ‘fit in’ but somewhere everyone can feel themselves and be their best to do their best.

Studies suggest that women and underrepresented groups tend to hesitate to apply for a job if their CV isn’t a perfect fit. Here, we look for talent and potential – not just formal experience and expertise. So if you like the role and think you could be awesome at it, go ahead and apply.

We’ll give you

Full-time/part-time role (32-40 hours per week);

A competitive salary, based on your background and experience;

Support from a friendly, passionate, down-to-earth team
