Job description
GyroGear is looking for a part-time / contract Senior Finance Controller / Finance Operations Lead to manage the company’s financial operations with accuracy, discipline, and clarity.
This person will own the finance cadence: cashflow, payroll, payments, budgets, reporting, compliance coordination, financial controls, and day-to-day financial operations. The role is suited for someone who can create structure quickly, maintain a global view of company finances, coordinate with managers and external advisers, and troubleshoot issues before they become problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations across the company.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial controls across entities.
- Prepare weekly cash reports and rolling cashflow forecasts.
- Run payroll, salary calculations, reimbursements, contractor payments, and payment cycles.
- Maintain payables, receivables, liabilities, loans, grants, and salary obligation schedules.
- Manage supplier payments, approvals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budget-versus-actual reports, and board finance inputs.
- Help department managers track budgets, spend, commitments, and upcoming payments.
- Coordinate with accountants, auditors, tax agents, payroll providers, and company secretaries.
- Track statutory deadlines and maintain a compliance calendar.
- Monitor manufacturing invoices, BOM costs, inventory costs, COGS, and supplier obligations.
- Maintain finance SOPs, file structures, reporting templates, and approval workflows.
- Provide CEO and management with a clear global overview of cash, runway, liabilities, risks, and financial priorities.
Ideal Candidate
- 5–10+ years in finance, accounting, controllership, or finance operations.
- Strong experience in financial operations, cashflow management, payroll, budgeting, and financial controls.
- Comfortable being hands-on in a fast-moving startup or SME environment.
- Able to create order from messy or incomplete information.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets and accounting system skills.
- Familiarity with Singapore and/or UK accounting, payroll, tax, and statutory processes preferred.
- Organised, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, reliable, and commercially aware.
Success in This Role
Within 60–90 days, the company should have reliable financial operations, weekly cash reporting, a 13-week cashflow forecast, a clear payment calendar, updated management accounts, organised liabilities and payroll schedules, budget tracking, finance SOPs, and clean finance files.
Pay: From $5,000.00 per month
