Job description
Role Purpose:
As an Associate in Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS), you’ll originate and deliver risk management and markets solutions for HSBC Priority Corporate clients, engaging primarily with Treasurers and C‑Suite stakeholders. You’ll build trusted, long-term relationships, increase product penetration and wallet share, and drive revenue by partnering closely with Corporate &Institutional Banking (CIB) Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) and Markets and Securities Services (MSS).
Key Responsibilities:
Client coverage & relationship management
- Provide solution-oriented coverage to clients at Treasurer and C‑Suite level, with a focus on understanding risk, liquidity, funding and hedging needs.
- Build and maintain deep client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and primary CRS point ofcontact for relevant opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality client engagement materials (pitches, proposals, market updates),tailored to client objectives and market conditions.
Origination (event-driven and thematic)
- Originate new business linked to CMA, HIF and Private Capital transactions, partnering with deal teams early to shape hedging and risk solutions.
- Develop solutions across industry themes (e.g., rates volatility, FX risk, inflation, refinancing cycles, supply chain/currency exposures), converting insights into actionable client ideas.
- Assess client risk profiles and exposures to propose appropriate hedging strategies and structures aligned to client policies and risk appetite.
Execution support, service and process improvement
- Manage opportunities from identification to point of sale and through post-trade processes, ensuring high-quality handoffs and issue resolution.
- Champion adoption of relevant service offerings and platforms to improve efficiency, profitability and client outcomes.
- Support enhancements to execution capabilities and help manage process changes as technology platforms evolve.
Risk, governance & conduct
- Ensure all activity complies with HSBC risk, compliance and regulatory standards, including suitability, sales practices, documentation and approvals.
- Deliver fair outcomes for customers and maintain conduct that supports orderly and transparent financial markets.
Team leadership & culture
- Mentor from senior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance environment.
- Share knowledge and best practice across teams and geographies, supporting consistent standards and capability uplift.
- Where applicable, support people leadership responsibilities (performance, development, execution quality).
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful you will need
- In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets, especially on foreign exchange instruments (Spot, Options, Swaps, Forwards, and Futures), interest rate and credit derivatives, with the ability to navigate and manage a diverse and complex product set
- Prior experience incorporate and/or investment banking, finance, investment, or accounting is preferred; Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a detail-oriented approach and robust problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex situations with multiple objectives, supported by a proven track record of success; High motivation, strong work ethic, and a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills, articulate and confident, with the ability to engage effectively with clients at various levels
