Job description

Overview of Role/Principle Responsibilities:

This role has the following principal responsibilities:

  • Lead a Team in expanding the client base and AUM, and exploring new products that are suitable for client needs
  • Promote and build a unique branding of the Schroders Wealth Management business whilst ensuring a high level of client service
  • Sourcing and on-boarding of new clients
  • Understand needs, objectives and risk profile of clients
  • Advise clients on investment ideas/opportunities and other wealth management services and ensure investment suitability and timely execution
  • Regular review of investment portfolios and risk profiles with clients
  • Strict observance of risk and compliance/cross-border/AML issues and regulations
  • Ensure that we achieve excellence in our clients’ experience, building lasting relationships based on high standards of service and quality advice

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Relationship Managers and Relationship Management Assistants and recruiting and training new staff
  • Regular reviews with RMs to develop and expand the client base and AUM
  • Build-up, maintain and expand a network of clients, introducing them to the Schroders company and Wealth Management platform
  • Ensure thorough due-diligence, including KYC and SOW at client on-boarding and also throughout the client relationship
  • Provide exceptional advice, service and appropriate recommendations to clients with focus on understanding their needs, objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Develop personalized wealth management solutions and investment ideas
  • Enable the client to make informed financial decisions by providing clear, relevant and timely information
  • Ensure a fair dealing of the customer
  • Regular and timely submission of progress reports, incl. existing business and prospect pipeline.
  • Constant and timely filing of call reports, following meetings/conversations with clients.
  • Communicate and work hand-in-hand with investment and treasury department, giving input for generating new investment/product ideas
  • Attend regulatory and in-house training session and pass regulatory licencing requirement tests
  • Back-up and assist other team members, while on leave or out stationed
  • Source and assist in organizing small-scale marketing events (Investment forums, social gatherings, sports events)
  • Follow-up on referral business
  • Observe and follow regulatory as well as the bank’s policies and procedures, guided by the Advisory Handbook, cross-border rules, AML guidelines, Addendum to Schroders WM Credit Risk Policy, Credit Procedure and other risk/compliance related procedures; diligent and prompt reporting of irregularities/red flags to line manager/compliance officer/respective head of department
  • Keep updated on latest developments on capital markets and the industry
  • Represent the Schroders brand and values in the market

Requirements

Experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in wealth management, investment advisory and/or relationship management (HNW/UHNW).
  • Recognised university degree.
  • Relevant regulatory licences and certifications applicable to Singapore wealth management advisory (e.g., CMFAS modules and any other required local credentials); CACS desirable where relevant.
  • Proven track record of client acquisition, retention and revenue generation.
  • CFA charterholder is an advantage.

Knowledge and skills

  • Strong understanding of capital markets and investment products (e.g., funds, equities, fixed income, structured products, alternatives) and portfolio construction principles.
  • Deep appreciation of suitability, fair dealing, cross-border considerations, and AML/CFT requirements in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent relationship management, consultative selling and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to translate market views into client-relevant advice.
