UWCSEA Dover is seeking a Procurement Executive (General Purchases) - [Fixed Term Contract - 1 8 months] to join our Procurement Team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Executive will collaborate with team members to secure efficient and compliant purchases for all transactions for the College. While primarily based at the Dover campus, occasional travel to the East campus may be required.
This is a fixed term contract of 1 8 months.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods or services from both local and overseas Suppliers; Evaluate Suppliers’ quotations to ensure that they are compliant with the requirements provided by the requesting department; Negotiate with Suppliers to secure the best possible outcome for the College
- Develop strong relationships and build trust with stakeholders in the College to understand business needs to build solutions to manage purchases; Assist in resolving supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues between Suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Advise/train all staff members on Procurement Policy, providing expert guidance on relevant processes and expectations of purchasing behaviour; Advise internal and external stakeholders on issues regarding General Terms & Conditions of the College
- Diligently performing daily operational procurement processes such as planning, issuing, and following up on Purchase Orders, ensuring all purchase requisitions are verified and approved according to the delegation of authority policy
- Discover reliable and well-priced suppliers, initiate and develop business partnerships to foster efficient and effective integration with the College’s needs
- Guide requestors to ensure that all requirements and scope of works are clearly defined before sourcing from the market
- Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College
Person Specifications
- Diploma / Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain/Purchasing or equivalent.
- Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply
- Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in similar positions, preferably in a fast-paced working environment
- Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications may still be considered based on relevant experience
- Able to analyse situations, develop clear procedures, and solve problems effectively.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with an attention to detail and meticulousness with numbers.
- Builds strong relationships through clear and effective communication with colleagues and suppliers at all levels.
- Works effectively in a multicultural environment, collaborating seamlessly while also handling assignments with initiative.
- High level of integrity, drive, and commitment to excellence.
- Proficient in generating reports, Google Suite, and macOS. Familiarity with procurement software and sourcing systems is a plus.

- Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently
- Able to multi-task and deliver results in a multicultural environment
