Job description

Data Platform Engineer

Do you want to build a state-of-the-art (streaming) data platform self-service platform, that serves multiple data teams, for the most renowned Media & Entertainment company in the Netherlands?

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer for one of the biggest commercial media/entertainment companies in the Netherlands.

You will be joining a highly skilled team responsible for building and maintaining the foundational (big) data infrastructure that powers the organisations' data ecosystem. This is not a standard data platform role, our client is already data-driven and looking to improve self-service, functionality and build an even more mature platform.

The tech stack is modern and includes: Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Airflow, Databricks, DataHub, DBT, Python, Azure, and AWS.

We are looking for Engineers who bring:

  • 4+ years of working experience as Software Engineer e.g. Python/GO
  • 2+ Several years of production Kubernetes experience, operating large scale data platforms.
  • Experience deploying applications with Helm & ArgoCD (or GitOps), working with chart structures independently;
  • At least 2 years of experience with a major cloud provider (Azure or AWS);
  • Experience as platform engineer, or data platform engineer is a plus

Experience maintaining data tooling such as Airflow, Databricks, or DataHub is a very strong plus. We are explicitly looking for engineers who can maintain these tools at a platform level, not just use them as an end user.

Are you energized by building reliable, scalable infrastructure that makes entire data teams more effective? This might be the role for you.

Hybrid working : 2 days per week on-site in Hilversum (Tue & Thu).

Salary up to €85K per year based on 36 hours.
