About the Roles

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer (SCADA) to join a waste management services organization based in Tuas, with company transport provided. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, offering a competitive package including basic salary plus transport allowance, retention bonus, AWS, and quarterly incentives—ideal for professionals looking for stability alongside attractive rewards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and implement SCADA/HMI systems for waste treatment and incineration facilities using AVEVA Wonderware System Platform and Wonderware InTouch
• Configure and deploy AVEVA System Platform components within a redundant architecture, including ArchestrA IDE, Galaxy Repository, InTouch HMI, AOS, Historian, communication drivers, System Management Console, and License Manager
• Establish systems for real-time data acquisition, alarms, trending, reporting, and historical data tracking
• Set up and maintain industrial communication networks such as Modbus, OPC UA/DA, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and MelsecNet to ensure stable data exchange
• Integrate SCADA platforms with field equipment including PLCs, RTUs, VFDs, sensors, CEMS, and instrumentation
• Work with PLC systems such as Schneider Modicon (M340/M580) – Control Expert, Siemens S7-300/S7-400 – STEP 7 v5.x, and Mitsubishi MELSEC Q – GX Developer
• Utilize supporting tools like KEPServerEX, Dream Report, WIN-911, and CEMS applications for system enhancement
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging across both hardware and software environments
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including I/O lists, tag databases, wiring diagrams, and SOPs
• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams throughout installation, commissioning, and project execution
• Provide technical input during tender stages and support project development both remotely and on-site
• Ensure system cybersecurity, data integrity, and overall operational reliability
• Support additional tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering
• At least 6 years of practical experience in SCADA programming and industrial automation environments
• Hands-on experience with AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform
• Familiarity with PLC platforms from Schneider Electric and Siemens
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA/DA, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, and MelsecNet
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Solid knowledge of industrial processes and control systems
• Experience within sectors such as water/wastewater, power, manufacturing, or oil & gas
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices within SCADA/OT environments
• Exposure to Industrial IoT platforms or cloud-based integration technologies
