Job description
We are looking for an experienced Database Specialist (m/f/d) for a client project with the following background and expertise:
- University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- 8–10+ years of experience as Database Engineer, Database Architect, or DBA in enterprise environments
- Several years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including deep knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and internals
- Proven track record in migrations from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL (large-scale environments)
- Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and capacity planning
- Solid experience with high-availability architectures, clustering, replication, read replicas, and backup & recovery concepts
- Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage
