We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer / IT Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Python development, FastAPI, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Unity Catalog. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design and development to testing, deployment, and operational support.

Roles & Responsibilities

Application Development & Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and platform services using Python and FastAPI.
• Participate in solution architecture, technical design, and implementation activities.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code following engineering best practices.
• Ensure application reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Platform Engineering & Cloud Integration

• Build and maintain cloud-native applications and services within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Support application infrastructure design and implementation.
• Ensure applications meet high availability, resilience, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to optimize application deployment and operations.

Data Platform Integration

• Develop and support solutions leveraging Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to integrate applications with enterprise data platforms.
• Support governance, access management, and data cataloging initiatives through Unity Catalog.
• Ensure secure and efficient data access across applications and services.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Promote DevOps and automation-first practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Support continuous integration, automated testing, and release management activities.
• Improve deployment efficiency, application quality, and operational stability through automation.

Quality & Best Practices

• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
• Implement and enforce software development best practices.
• Ensure application quality through automated testing and continuous validation.
• Identify opportunities for optimization, refactoring, and performance improvement.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Work closely with product owners, developers, platform engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Share technical knowledge and contribute to team growth and engineering excellence.
• Support cross-functional teams in delivering business-critical solutions.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

Core Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python application development.
• Proven experience developing APIs and microservices using FastAPI.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and application architecture.
• Experience working with highly available and business-critical applications.

Cloud & Platform Technologies

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Understanding of cloud-native application design and deployment patterns.
• Experience working with application infrastructure and platform services.
• Knowledge of scalability, resilience, monitoring, and operatio
