Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz develops systems that shape clinical decision‑making across the globe. Within this environment, the Hardware Integration Team plays a pivotal role: we ensure that electronics, mechanics, firmware, and software merge into one coherent, reliable diagnostic platform.
As a HW Integration Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary group of specialists who safeguard system integrity from early prototypes to large‑scale deployment. Your work directly influences the robustness, reliability, and long‑term performance of instruments used in critical healthcare settings.
HW Integration Engineer
What You Will Do
- System Integration Leadership — Lead the physical and logical integration of hardware and software modules, ensuring seamless system behavior.
- Hardware Parameterization — Define and adjust key hardware parameters, configure test software, and collaborate closely with firmware teams to optimize system performance.
- Endurance & Reliability Testing — Design electromechanical test setups, run long‑duration stress tests, and evaluate reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTBRV.
- Data‑Driven Insight — Monitor system counters, interpret complex log data, and translate findings into actionable improvements.
- Cross‑Functional Troubleshooting — Drive root‑cause investigations across electronics, mechanics, firmware, and software disciplines.
- R&D–Operations Bridge — Support the transfer of validated designs into global manufacturing and service organizations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 5+ years hands‑on experience in HW/SW integration, system‑level testing, or mechatronic troubleshooting
- Experience in regulated industries (MedTech, Diagnostics, IVD, GxP) is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of mechatronics and its interaction with firmware/software
- Scripting or programming skills for test automation
- Comfortable working in Linux environments
- Analytical mindset, curiosity for complex systems, and interest in AI‑assisted testing and data analysis
- Fluent in English ; German is beneficial for local collaboration
