About the Role 

 

A Field Service Engineer will install, configure and maintain equipment solutions onsite at customer facilities. They must be a creative problem solver with the ability to identify, analyze, maintain and repair complex mechanical equipment and answer difficult customer questions about product features. A Field Service Engineer will perform start-up testing and deliver customer training on product capabilities, features and general maintenance of the product(s). They will build and maintain strong, trust-based customer relationships and will work closely with other supporting team members to provide exceptional customer service. 

 

What You'll Do 

  

Ensuring execution of defined service and installation calls on assigned customers necessary to achieve goals 

Support customer installation project management 

Provide on-site installation, validation and commissioning of Automatic Packaging Solutions Systems 

Perform hands-on troubleshooting, service and repairs (including upgrades, modifications) 

Provide on-site training to customers 

Scheduling tasks at customer job sites 

Troubleshooting issues quickly and effectively, using technical drawings and documentation 

Performing routine maintenance and emergency services as they arise 

Continuous learning, including customer operational processes, packaging designs, technical specifications 

Support requests and issue management 

Spares management towards end customer 

Stay up to date with industry and market trends 

Documentation, reporting and administrative work related to project installs and preventative maintenance 

Basic clerical and administrative duties (emails, expense reports, travel arrangements, technical reports) 

Communicate responsively and productively with company and customer personnel 

Adhere to all company and local customer safety requirements and protocols 

Work against set performance KPIs 

 

What You'll Bring 

  

Bachelor degree/technical education OR minimum 3 years experience in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical equipment 

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset 

Skilled in use of mechanical and electrical hand tools; able to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams 

Detail oriented and stress resistant 

Strong communication and collaboration skills 

Flexible and adaptable to changes 

Comfortable working independently, managing your own time with minimal supervision 

Customer service oriented with ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities 

Innovative and self-assured with decision making ability and hands-on mentality 

Positive attitude and ability to learn quickly in a hyper-growth environment 

Familiar with Microsoft Office; experience with reporting tools or service software is a bonus 

Fluent in English and local language (spoken and written) 

 

Physical Requirements 

  

Must be able to lift 50lbs 

Will be required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for several hours constantly 

  

Travel Requirements 

  

All work performed remotely at customers facilities within your territory or outside as needed 

Travel often required internationally 

Approximate overnight travel: 50-70% 

Willingness to travel and work consignment shifts, including weekends 

 

Nice to Have 

  

Previous experience as a Resident Engineer or customer-facing field service role 

Ability to speak Dutch (spoken and written) 

Familiarity with automated packaging systems or industrial automation equipment 

Basic knowledge of PLC systems and industrial sensors 

Experience with technical documentation, reporting, or digital service tools 

Valid driver's license 

5+ years hands-on experience in electro-mechanical systems (preferred)
