Senior Mechatronics Engineer

📍 Central Switzerland | 90-100% | Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join an innovative R&D environment developing highly sophisticated mechatronic systems.

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software, ensuring seamless integration, robust system performance, and high product reliability. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex system-level challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive the integration of hardware, firmware, and software components into reliable system solutions.
• Configure and parameterize hardware, firmware, and test environments.
• Design and execute system, integration, endurance, and reliability tests.
• Analyze test results, hardware counters, log files, and system data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Perform root cause investigations and troubleshooting of complex mechatronic systems.
• Collaborate closely with experts from electronics, mechanics, firmware, and software development.
• Support the transfer of robust and validated solutions into manufacturing and service operations.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in hardware/software integration, system-level testing, or mechatronic troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of the interaction between mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software.
• Experience with scripting or programming for test automation (ideally Python).
• Solid Linux experience and confidence working in technical lab environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English is required; German is considered a strong asset.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries such as MedTech, Diagnostics, IVD, or GxP environments.
• Hands-on experience with reliability testing, lifetime testing, and system validation.
• Interest in emerging technologies and AI-assisted approaches for hardware testing and data analysis.
