Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior BIM Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team, supporting the digital delivery and coordination of major building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes throughout the construction phase, ensuring models remain coordinated, accurate, and aligned with project requirements.

Working closely with the Resident Engineer, design consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary site teams, the Senior BIM Engineer will oversee BIM implementation, model coordination, clash resolution, digital workflows, and information management to support efficient project delivery and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and management of BIM processes throughout the construction supervision phase in accordance with project BIM standards and client requirements.

  • Manage, review, and coordinate federated BIM models across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.

  • Review contractor BIM execution plans, model submissions, and digital deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

  • Facilitate multidisciplinary model coordination meetings, identifying and resolving clashes and interface issues before construction activities.

  • Support construction teams by producing coordinated model views, digital construction sequences, quantity information, and visualisations where required.

  • Monitor model quality, accuracy, and compliance with project naming conventions, level of development, and information requirements.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure the timely exchange of accurate project information.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in monitoring construction progress using digital tools and BIM-enabled reporting where applicable.

  • Ensure asset information and as-built models are developed and maintained in preparation for project handover.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to BIM Engineers, BIM Coordinators, and BIM Technicians.

  • Prepare BIM progress reports, coordination logs, clash detection reports, and digital delivery metrics for project stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • BIM-related professional certifications are highly desirable.

  • Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years managing BIM on major construction supervision projects.
