Job description
NHSuperfoods is one of Europe’s leading importers and distributors of organic, sustainable, and regenerative food ingredients. We work with trusted partners at origin and supply customers across the EU in the food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.
We’re growing fast — and we’re looking for a motivated, ambitious, and curious intern to join our Supply Chain & Administration team.
About the Internship
This full-time internship gives you hands-on experience in international trade, logistics, administration, and quality assurance. You will learn how food ingredients are sourced, shipped, controlled, and delivered in full compliance with EU regulations, organic standards, and customer requirements.
You will work closely with management, logistics partners, suppliers, and the sales team — gaining real responsibility from day one.
What You Will Learn / Do:
· Supply Chain & Logistics
o How international shipments are planned, booked, and tracked (EU & global)
o Understanding Incoterms, freight options, transit times, and logistics costs
o Working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouses
o Preparing and managing logistics documentation: Packing lists, commercial invoices, CMR, BL, AWB, import/export docs
o Inventory monitoring, stock accuracy, and warehouse coordination
o Handling delays, deviations, and problem-solving in real operations
· Quality & Compliance
o Understanding food safety documentation: CoA, organic certificates, allergen statements
o Basics of EU organic regulations and traceability
o Supplier onboarding, evaluations, and documentation control
o Maintaining procedures, work instructions, and controlled documents
· Administration & ERP Systems
o Creating and managing purchase orders, sales orders, and delivery notes
o Working with ERP/CRM systems and shared documentation platforms
o Preparing reports, presentations, and internal documentation
· Customer Service & Sales Support
o Communicating with customers via email and phone
o Supporting the sales team with offers, quotations, and order confirmations
o Coordinating sample shipments and customer requests
o Understanding customer delivery requirements and service expectations
· New Product Development (NPD)
· Researching ingredients, packaging, and co‑packing options
· Supporting healthy snack concepts, functional blends, and cacao innovations
· Learning how new products move from idea to market-ready solution
· Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (IFS Broker, organic certification, supplier approval etc)
· Support with the implementation and optimization of the new processing plant and private label projects
· Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, sustainability, and efficiency
· Assist in the preparation, review, and management of quality and regulatory documentation (specifications, COAs, declarations, questionnaires)
· Coordinate supplier documentation, approvals, and periodic evaluations
· Support traceability, complaint handling, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
· Assist with audit preparation (internal, customer, certification audits) and follow-up actions
· Ensure compliance with EU food safety, organic, and labeling regulations
· Coordinate administrative tasks related to orders, logistics documentation, and contracts
· Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems
· Liaise with logistics providers, laboratories, and service partners when required
· Responsible for daily office operations, including managing client email correspondence, coordinating routine administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth day-to-day workflow within the office
We’re Looking for
· Currently studying last year or recently graduated in:
o Supply Chain
o International Business or related field
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Additional EU language (Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish) is a strong plus
· EU citizen or international student in the Netherlands with a valid BSN
· Proactive, structured, and able to manage multiple tasks
· Comfortable working with MS Office, ERP/CRM systems, online platforms, and AI tools
· Strong communication skills, customer-oriented, and detail-focused
· Available full-time for at least 5-6 months
