Accountant

Role Overview

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in managing core accounting functions and supporting financial reporting in a dynamic business environment. As part of our Abdulla Al Masaood and Sons Group team in Abu Dhabi, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities including accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger.
• Process customer invoices and supplier payments accurately and on time.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare relevant accounting schedules.
• Maintain accurate records and financial documentation for assigned entities/companies.
• Support external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation as directed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Must have requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting/bookkeeping experience in core accounting functions.
• Currently residing in the UAE.
• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger, invoice and payment processing, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems. Please specify which systems you have used.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and PivotTables.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice to have requirements

• Immediate availability or a very short notice period.
• Prior accounting experience within the UAE.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Experience providing support for external audits and preparing detailed audit schedules.
• Background in managing accounts for multiple entities or companies.
