About Microavia

Microavia is a Swiss manufacturer of autonomous drone solutions, developing and producing complete aerial systems, including autonomous Drone-in-a-Box solutions with robotic battery replacement, long-endurance drones, proprietary flight control software, mission management platforms, and AI-powered autonomy technologies.

We are looking for an experienced Drone Manufacturing Engineering Lead to lead and coordinate project-based drone assembly and production activities.

This is a hands-on engineering and leadership role combining manufacturing engineering, production coordination, team supervision, and technical troubleshooting . The successful candidate will work closely with assembly technicians and engineering teams to ensure products are assembled in accordance with engineering documentation, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the assembly team.
  • Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks and risks, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support and troubleshooting during mechanical, electrical, and final product assembly.
  • Investigate assembly issues and engineering discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with R&D, Mechanical, Electronics, and QA/QC teams.
  • Develop and implement engineering and manufacturing changes required to resolve production and assembly issues.
  • Design and model tooling, jigs, fixtures, and other production aids required for assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Define technical requirements and specifications for tooling, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing, procurement, implementation, and validation of required tooling and production equipment.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of assembly processes, work instructions, tooling, and production flow.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical/electromechanical assembly or manufacturing of complex technical products.
  • Experience leading technicians, assemblers, or manufacturing teams.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good technical English, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing manufacturing projects .
  • Experience setting up or reorganizing a production line or manufacturing facility , including layout, workstations, storage, material flow, tooling, and equipment.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  • Experience transitioning products from R&D/engineering into production.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, ERP/MRP/PLM, or similar production systems.

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on engineer with strong production leadership skills, capable of managing assembly activities, solving technical issues, developing engineering solutions, designing production tooling and fixtures, and coordinating with engineering teams to keep production on schedule.
