Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual, monthly, weekly and daily maintenance schedules for dam assets.
  • Prepare preventive, predictive, corrective, emergency and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Convert approved maintenance requirements into detailed work packages and executable schedules.
  • Define activity sequences, durations, dependencies, milestones and resource requirements.
  • Integrate civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, instrumentation and control-system maintenance activities.
  • Schedule contractor maintenance activities and coordinate implementation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare two-week and four-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate planned shutdowns, equipment isolation, testing, restart and return-to-service activities.
  • Optimize maintenance schedules to minimize operational disruption and asset downtime.
  • Ensure critical and safety-related maintenance activities receive appropriate priority.
  • Monitor maintenance backlogs and recommend actions to address overdue work.
  • Review contractors’ baseline schedules, detailed work programs, schedule updates and recovery plans.
  • Verify that contractors’ schedules align with contractual milestones and approved O&M plans.
  • Review schedule logic, calendars, activity durations, constraints and critical paths.
  • Monitor actual progress and compare performance with approved baselines.
  • Identify delays, schedule slippage, resource shortages and emerging delivery risks.
  • Perform critical-path, float and schedule-impact analyses.
  • Assess the scheduling impact of variations, equipment failures, access restrictions and technical changes.
  • Recommend recovery measures, alternative work sequences and resource adjustments.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of approved recovery plans.
  • Maintain integrated schedules for O&M, repair, rehabilitation and improvement projects.
  • Establish progress-measurement methods, rules and reporting procedures.
  • Define weighted activities, work breakdown structures and measurable completion criteria.
  • Verify reported progress against field evidence, completed quantities and approved records.
  • Prepare planned-versus-actual performance analyses.
  • Develop progress curves, milestone trackers, resource histograms and schedule dashboards.
  • Monitor schedule and maintenance KPIs, including:
  • Planned maintenance compliance
  • Work-order completion
  • Schedule adherence
  • Maintenance backlog
  • Critical-path performance
  • Equipment downtime
  • Contractor productivity
  • Forecast completion dates
  • Prepare schedule and decision-support reports for the Dams Sector.
  • Forecast future workloads, resource demand, equipment needs and expected completion dates.
  • Highlight critical activities, delayed milestones, operational risks and required management actions.
  • Maintain accurate records supporting schedule updates and progress assessments.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, spare parts, tools, equipment and access requirements.
  • Confirm that resources are available before scheduled work begins.
  • Work with Procurement and Stores teams to monitor long-lead materials and critical spare parts.
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors, operators and permit authorities.
  • Participate in planning, progress, coordination and performance-review meetings.
  • Follow up assigned actions and ensure schedule-related issues are resolved promptly.
  • Support the evaluation of contractor staffing, productivity and schedule performance.
  • Reporting and Compliance
  • Prepare clear daily, weekly, monthly, annual and technical reports as required by the assignment.
  • Present schedule performance, forecasts, delays and recovery recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend meetings, inspections and site visits anywhere in Saudi Arabia as required.
  • Comply with Saudi laws, applicable codes, Client procedures, quality requirements and occupational health and safety obligations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification or an equivalent internationally recognized planning and scheduling qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in planning and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience planning O&M, maintenance, infrastructure or asset-intensive projects.
  • Advanced practical capability in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and SAP maintenance planning.
  • Experience developing baseline, integrated, detailed and look-ahead schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of progress measurement, critical-path analysis, forecasting and recovery planning.
  • Experience reviewing contractor schedules and validating reported progress.
  • Understanding of preventive, predictive, corrective and emergency maintenance processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering scopes, technical documents, maintenance requirements and contractual milestones.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Relevant experience must be supported by verifiable employment records, project references, schedules or reports when requested.
