European Test Services (ETS) B.V., a joint venture between AIRBUS and IABG, plays a pivotal role in the operation and maintenance of the prestigious European Space Agency (ESA) Test Centre in the Netherlands.
ETS is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Engineering Manager to oversee the maintenance and testing activities associated with the Test Centre facilities. As a key member of the organization, the Technical Engineering Manager will report directly to the ETS Managing Director and the Head of Department and will hold a central responsibility for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of all testing activities.
In this role, the Technical Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership, coordinate maintenance and testing operations, and ensure that mechanical facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. Through effective management and close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, the position will make a significant contribution to the operational excellence and overall success of ETS.
Tätigkeit:
- Manage and plan maintenance and operations in accordance with technical, financial, and contractual requirements
- Lead the mechanical engineering team, including permanent and temporary personnel, and oversee mechanical testing, maintenance, training, and qualification activities
- Assess facility and team performance to identify and implement improvements in safety, operational efficiency, and overall performance
- Represent and promote the mechanical test facilities to the European Space Agency (ESA) and external test customers, supporting business development and customer engagement
- Provide technical and financial input to proposals, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure alignment with project requirements
- Act as Test Responsible or support the Test Program Manager in resolving technical matters related to mechanical testing
Voraussetzungen:
- A university degree or equivalent qualification in Technical (Technisch) Engineering or a related field
- Several years of relevant professional experience in the technical testing of space hardware
- In-depth knowledge of vibration and acoustic test facilities used for the mechanical qualification and testing of spacecraft components, subsystems, and systems
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of effectively managing resources and fostering a motivated, high-performing mechanical engineering team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Ziele: Ensure that all mechanical test facilities are properly maintained and calibrated in accordance with applicable requirements.
Ensure that the mechanical team is appropriately qualified and competent to perform its assigned responsibilities.
Ensure that all maintenance, calibration, and testing activities—including proposal preparation—are properly planned and executed, and coordinate the necessary resources accordingly.
Ensure operational efficiency through effective planning, prioritization, and allocation of team tasks.
Lead non-conformance (NC) investigations and task forces to ensure rapid and effective troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
