Job description

Welcome to ZEISS – a company that combines innovation and responsibility! Our corporate functions are diverse and make a decisive contribution to the strategic orientation and sustainable success of ZEISS.

Your Role

With us, you have the opportunity to perfectly combine your studies with practical experience while actively contributing to exciting projects. This allows you to gain valuable skills, expand your network, and grow both professionally and personally.

At ZEISS, you won't just write code - you'll work on hardware demonstrators evaluating new technologies for medical devices, microscopy and semiconductor manufacturing. As part of a team of scientists and research engineers, you will spend at least 6 months developing embedded Linux systems, integrating cameras, displays, and SoCs to prototype and validate new software/hardware concepts hands-on in the lab.

What We Offer

• Real project ownership: contribute to embedded computing solutions used

in medical, microscopy and semiconductor industries

• Hands-on experience with the latest embedded hardware and software

platforms

• A collaborative, open-minded team that welcomes new ideas and fresh

perspectives

• Close mentorship by experienced engineers and researchers

• Flexible working arrangements, including partial remote work

• The chance to grow with a globally leading technology company - with

potential for a subsequent thesis or career opportunities at ZEISS

Your Profile

You are enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or a related field

You have experience with Desktop Linux and a genuine interest in how it works under the hood - from kernel to hardware interfaces

You have first hands-on experience with embedded systems, such as Raspberry Pi or microcontrollers

You are curious, proactive and enjoy learning by doing - rapid prototyping gets you excited

You communicate well in English and/or German

The internship lasts approximately 6 months and can be followed by a bachelor's or master's thesis

Sounds exciting? Then become part of #teamZEISS and help us shape the future! Please provide your complete application documents (CV, transcript of records, etc.).
