Job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Spielbach is Aemeralds' growing children’s music and entertainment division, developing music, characters, videos and digital content for audiences around the world.
We are looking for a highly ambitious Kids Music & Content Manager to help us build and grow the division. The role sits at the intersection of A&R, creative production, project management and business development. You will identify new opportunities, develop concepts, and then take responsibility for turning them into finished music and content.
You will work closely with the founders while coordinating songwriters, producers, studios, animators, illustrators, video teams and other external partners across multiple countries.
This is a highly hands-on role. You should be equally comfortable researching a new market opportunity, giving feedback on a song, reviewing a script, negotiating with a production partner, organizing a studio session or chasing a final asset ahead of a deadline.
As Spielbach grows, the role has the potential to develop into a broader leadership position with responsibility for building and managing a team.
TASKS
- Research the international children’s entertainment market and identify new genres, formats, niches, characters and commercial opportunities.
- Develop proposals for new music and content projects based on market potential, competition, trends and production economics.
- Manage 2-3 larger projects alongside approximately 15–20 smaller ongoing releases and productions.
- Make A&R decisions and work closely with songwriters, producers, vocalists and studios from initial concept through to final master.
- Give detailed creative feedback on songwriting, arrangements, vocals, production and the commercial positioning of music.
- Oversee live-action, animation, green-screen, music video, short-form and other video productions.
- Review scripts and creative concepts, source writers and creative partners, and make edits or change requests where necessary.
- Source and coordinate studios, production companies, animators, editors, directors, performers and specialist freelancers internationally.
- Build production schedules, organize sessions, manage deliverables and make sure projects move forward on time.
- Manage production budgets together with the founders, source quotes and find commercially sensible production solutions.
- Track developments across music, YouTube, social media and children’s entertainment and translate them into actionable ideas for Spielbach.
- Help develop and scale successful projects across at least eight languages and multiple international markets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant experience in children’s entertainment, music, digital content, media production or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of the international children’s music and content market, including major players, current trends and commercially successful formats.
- Excellent musical judgement and the ability to give clear, useful feedback to songwriters, producers and studios.
- A musical background is a significant advantage but not mandatory if you have an exceptionally strong ear and understanding of music.
- Experience managing creative projects involving multiple external contributors and tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of video production, including live action and animation.
- Strong visual judgement and practical experience with image editing, video editing and current AI tools.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of production costs, budgets and where opportunities exist to build profitable projects.
- Excellent English. German is a strong advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many parallel projects without losing attention to detail.
WHO YOU ARE
- Exceptionally ambitious, hard-working and motivated by the opportunity to build something significant.
- Highly entrepreneurial. You do not just execute tasks but actively look for opportunities, propose ideas and find ways to make them happen.
- Comfortable switching between high-level strategic thinking and very detailed execution several times within the same day.
- Extremely hands-on and willing to solve problems yourself rather than waiting for someone else to take responsibility.
- Commercially minded while maintaining a strong creative instinct.
- Fast, organized and precise, particularly when managing deadlines and multiple external partners.
- Comfortable making decisions, giving direct creative feedback and taking ownership of outcomes.
- Resourceful when something does not go according to plan and able to quickly find alternative people, suppliers or production solutions.
- Excited by the prospect of helping turn a relatively small division into a substantial international children’s entertainment business.
- Capable of doing the work yourself today while understanding when and how to delegate as the team grows.
FURTHER DETAILS
- Salary: 60.000-80.000€ anually.
- Location: Amsterdam or remote.
- Full-time.
- Start: TBD.
