Job description

greenteg AG offers high-tech thermal sensing solutions for an international customer base. Besides marketing industrial sensors for laser power metering and for assessing insulation properties of buildings, we also offer a unique core body temperature measurement solution (CALERA) for wearable devices. The technology empowers customers with a wide range of innovative applications such as improving sports performance, continuous and non-invasive patient monitoring, ovulation tracking, sleep analysis or early detection of diseases.

The company develops, manufactures, and markets all solutions at our headquarters in Rümlang, ZH.

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Design Intern to support our R&D team with prototyping and help transfer our new wearable device developments into serial production.

Start Date: Immediately (or upon agreement)

Tasks

  • Help drive the development of our next generation of wearable devices as part of our Hardware team.
  • Co-design factory programming and test setups with the firmware engineer, including design of the test fixtures for serial production;
  • Conduct zero-series device assembly, perform mechanical tests on the various components and assess mechanical integration of PCBs, batteries and sensors within the enclosure;
  • Prepare test protocols, document results and maintain design documentation
  • Collaborate with the product and R&D teams to translate test findings and new product requirements into design improvements in Autodesk Fusion 360.
  • As project capacity permits, contribute to the design and prototyping of product accessories such as charging stations.

Requirements

You are a student seeking a 6-month internship in an entrepreneurial environment.

You bring along:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360.
  • Hands-on mentality, practical mindset.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • A valid Swiss working permit is a must.

Nice to have:

  • Basic PCB design experience.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Python scripting for test data/automation.
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFA concepts.
  • Exposure to injection molding processes.
