As Nucleate Netherlands continues to grow, we’re looking for someone passionate about community building, biotech, entrepreneurship, and student leadership to help shape our chapter’s culture and member experience.

Community Lead

As a Community Lead, you will help grow and strengthen the Nucleate Netherlands community by fostering meaningful engagement across our Leadership. You will create a welcoming and inclusive chapter experience, support member retention and volunteer engagement, and help ensure that people stay connected to Nucleate Netherlands beyond individual events and programs.

Role Requirements

• Based in the Netherlands; able to attend occasional in-person events in the Netherlands.
• 4–6 hours/week availability; attend weekly online chapter meeting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and reliability.
• Comfortable engaging with students, academics, founders, and industry stakeholders.
• Alignment with Nucleate’s mission and DEI values.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different areas of the organization.

Preferred

• Experience in community building, student leadership, volunteering, or event coordination.
• Background or interest in life sciences, biotech, academia, or entrepreneurship.
• Experience with outreach, member engagement, or stakeholder relationship management.
• Familiarity with Airtable or other community/project management tools.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a community engagement strategy aligned with chapter goals and Nucleate’s mission.
• Grow and nurture the local community of students, researchers, founders, and ecosystem supporters through consistent outreach and relationship building.
• Develop initiatives that improve community experience, belonging, and retention across volunteers, event attendees, and applicants.
• Support recruitment efforts by engaging prospective volunteers and helping communicate the value of joining the chapter.
• Coordinate community touchpoints before, during, and after events, including welcoming attendees, facilitating introductions, and following up with participants.
• Maintain community records and contact lists in collaboration with Operations, in a structured and GDPR-compliant way.
• Gather feedback from members, volunteers, and event participants to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Organize community-building initiatives such as informal meetups, networking moments, and volunteer appreciation activities.
• Collaborate closely with Programming, Communications, Partnerships, and Operations to ensure a connected and high-quality chapter experience.
• Act as a community ambassador for Nucleate Netherlands and help uphold an inclusive, professional, and supportive culture.
• Time Commitment (hours/week): 4-6
