Location: North Holland | Full-time

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on IT Engineer to join a small Central Services IT team supporting colleagues across multiple European locations.

The role will focus on maintaining and improving a secure, reliable and user-friendly IT environment, with an initial emphasis on Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, endpoint management, security and compliance . You will also contribute to DORA and ISO 27001 readiness through improved controls, documentation, processes and audit follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and improve Microsoft Azure , including VMs, networking, storage, identity, monitoring and cost optimisation.
• Manage Microsoft 365 E5 , including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, security and compliance.
• Manage Windows endpoints using Intune and Autopilot, including provisioning, applications, compliance and patching.
• Maintain network and firewall infrastructure , including switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, segmentation and perimeter security.
• Own backup, recovery and disaster recovery , including ransomware resilience and restore testing.
• Support IT governance, DORA and ISO 27001 readiness , including documentation, evidence and control improvements.
• Lead or support IT projects , working with internal stakeholders and technology vendors.
• Manage vendor relationships, licences, renewals and service performance.
• Resolve escalations and provide hands-on support where required.
• Continuously improve the end-user experience, security and operational efficiency .

Candidate Profile

• Strong hands-on experience in hybrid IT environments , particularly Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints and infrastructure.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 E5, Entra ID, Intune/MDM and Autopilot .
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi and segmentation ; Cisco or Fortinet experience is advantageous.
• Experience with backup, recovery, DR and cyber resilience ; Rubrik experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to own incidents, changes and improvements from analysis through implementation and follow-up.
• Experience delivering small to medium-sized IT projects .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and service-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable managing vendors, stakeholders, SLAs and commercial discussions .
• Strong English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with ITIL, information security, ISO 27001 and/or DORA is beneficial.

Preferred Certifications

Relevant certifications are advantageous but hands-on experience is valued most. Examples include:

• AZ-104 - Azure Administrator
• MD-102 - Endpoint Administrator
• MS-102 - Microsoft 365 Administrator
• SC-300 - Identity and Access Administrator
• ITIL Foundation
• Cisco/networking certifications
• Rubrik or equivalent backup/recovery certifications
