Agurotech develops and produces smart hardware for agriculture, including soil sensors, weather stations and other connected devices used by growers around the world.

For our in-house hardware production in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Production Floor Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our production floor.

This is a highly operational and hands-on role. At least 75% of the working week will be spent on or directly supporting the production floor.

Your main responsibility is to make sure our hardware is assembled, tested and prepared correctly, efficiently and according to plan, and that customer orders leave our location complete and on time.

What you will do

Run daily production You will coordinate the day-to-day assembly and testing activities on the production floor. You make sure the right products are being worked on, production priorities are clear and issues are addressed quickly.

You will:

• coordinate daily and weekly production activities;
• allocate work across the production team;
• monitor output and progress throughout the day;
• make sure production instructions and quality procedures are followed;
• ensure workstations, tools and materials are ready for production;
• identify bottlenecks and take practical action to resolve them;
• make sure completed products progress through testing and preparation without unnecessary delays.

Work hands-on

The Production Floor Manager is expected to work directly alongside the production team when needed.

This can include:

• mechanical assembly;
• preparing components and materials;
• epoxy, gluing and curing activities;
• final assembly and product finishing;
• PCB and component testing;
• product testing and quality-control checks;
• basic technical production work;
• preparing finished products for shipment.

You should be comfortable stepping into assembly yourself when additional capacity is required.

Testing and troubleshooting

When a product fails testing or produces an unexpected result, you take ownership of understanding what happened.

You will:

• verify that the correct testing process was followed;
• inspect the product and assembly;
• troubleshoot possible production or component issues;
• identify defective components or assemblies where possible;
• resolve practical production issues directly;
• document recurring failures;
• escalate issues to Engineering where deeper technical investigation is required;
• ensure agreed corrective actions are implemented on the production floor.

Quality control

You will oversee the practical execution of our quality-control processes, including:

• ensuring testing procedures are followed consistently;
• checking production and testing records;
• monitoring defects and deviations;
• separating failed products from completed stock;
• identifying recurring quality issues;
• making sure products meet the required standards before release.

Customer order fulfilment

You make sure customer orders are physically prepared and shipped complete, on time and correctly documented.

You will:

• organize incoming customer orders into clear shipping priorities;
• check whether ordered products are in stock or need to be produced;
• pick, pack and prepare orders for shipment;
• verify that every order is complete and matches what was ordered before it leaves;
• prepare the required shipping documentation and hand shipments over to carriers;
• keep an overview of open orders and expected shipping dates;
• flag orders at risk of being late or incomplete in time for action to be taken;
• keep Customer Support & Sales informed on order and shipment status.

Inventory and stock control

Accurate physical inventory is an important part of the role.

You will:

• perform weekly physical inventory counts;
• compare physical stock with the inventory administration;
• investigate discrepancies;
• ensure components and finished products are properly stored and labelled;
• monitor stock levels required for upcoming production and open orders;
• flag shortages before they affect production or deliveries;
• maintain clear visibility of components, work-in-progress and finished products.

Production preparation

You will make sure upcoming production runs can start smoothly by:

• preparing materials and components;
• ensuring equipment and tools are operational;
• maintaining an organised production environment;
• checking availability of required components;
• coordinating practical maintenance or support where needed;
• anticipating production constraints before they become delays.

Team coordination

You will coordinate the Production Assembly Technician(s) and any temporary or part-time production support.

This includes:

• assigning daily tasks;
• monitoring output and quality;
• providing practical instructions;
• training team members on defined assembly processes;
• ensuring production procedures are followed;
• stepping in when additional support is needed.

Production reporting

You will maintain a clear overview of:

• production quantities;
• testing progress;
• failed products;
• production issues;
• inventory discrepancies;
• open customer orders and shipment status;
• current production status;
• expected completion and shipping dates.

You are expected to flag risks early and keep management informed when production output, quality, order fulfilment or timing is at risk.

Who we are looking for

You are highly practical and execution-oriented. You enjoy being close to the product and understand that reliable production and reliable delivery depend on attention to detail.

You:

• enjoy spending most of your working day on a production floor;
• are comfortable personally assembling and testing products;
• take ownership when something does not work;
• naturally investigate the cause of failed tests or production issues;
• are precise and quality-conscious, including when preparing outgoing orders;
• are organised and disciplined;
• can coordinate others while remaining actively involved yourself;
• are comfortable working with electronics, hardware and technical products;
• understand the importance of accurate inventory, production and order records;
• communicate clearly when production or a delivery is at risk;
• know when to solve a problem yourself and when to involve Engineering.

Experience in electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing or another technical production environment is an advantage. Practical production experience is particularly valuable.

Even as the person coordinating the production floor, you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working directly alongside the production team when required.

• Up to €4,000 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week.
• 8% holiday allowance.
