Job description
Our client is a global technology business developing high-performance RF and millimetre-wave solutions used in advanced measurement, communications, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor and emerging technology applications.
They are looking for a Senior MMIC Design Engineer to join their R&D group in Böblingen, Germany, supporting the development of next-generation millimetre-wave ICs for high-frequency instrumentation platforms, with designs operating from around 30 GHz up to and beyond 100 GHz.
As a Senior MMIC Design Engineer, you will work across the full MMIC development cycle, from specification and architecture through schematic design, layout, EM verification, sign-off and lab validation. The role will involve designing and optimising high-frequency RF blocks such as LNAs, PAs, mixers, multipliers, frequency converters or similar circuits, while working closely with systems, packaging, modelling and test teams.
The client is looking for someone with strong industrial experience in mmWave IC design, ideally with a background in SiGe, GaAs, GaN, CMOS or similar semiconductor technologies. Experience with tools such as ADS, Momentum, EMPro, SystemVue or comparable RF design environments would be highly relevant, alongside hands-on validation experience including wafer probing, RF characterisation and correlation between simulation and measurement.
This Senior MMIC Design Engineer role would suit someone who wants technical ownership, exposure to advanced frequencies, and the chance to work on complex RF/mmWave ICs that directly influence the performance of future high-end measurement systems. It is a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys detailed design work, lab validation and solving difficult high-frequency design challenges in a technically strong R&D environment.
