Job description

Description Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Chemical Lab Supervisor to join the Quality Department. Reporting to the Quality Laboratory Senior Engineer, this role is responsible for overseeing the chemical analysis of metals and materials used in casting and forging processes, ensuring all materials meet quality standards and customer specifications through accurate and reliable test results that support production quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Laboratory Operations Management

  • Maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment to ensure operational accuracy and reliability
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular staff training.

Chemical Analysis & Review

  • Perform chemical composition analysis using methods including OES, XRF, and ICP
  • Prepare samples and review test results for accuracy and completeness.

Quality Assurance Support

  • Verify chemical conformity of materials throughout the production process
  • Conduct tests in accordance with customer requirements and certification body specifications.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare test reports and manage analytical data
  • Investigate quality issues and propose corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Assign tasks and manage the performance of laboratory personnel
  • Train new employees and interns on laboratory procedures and standards.

Requirements Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the metals industry or quality control
  • Proven experience in laboratory management and analytical equipment operation.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in operating OES, ICP, XRF, and other analytical instruments
  • Familiarity with quality standards including ISO and ASTM
  • Experience with quality certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 is an advantage.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Competence in technical writing and reporting
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents in English.
