Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PLC Electromechanical Maintenance Engineer role based in Dubai. The engineer will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC-controlled sheet metal and fabrication machinery, including hydraulic press brakes, shearing machines, laser cutting equipment, and related systems. Daily tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical components, updating PLC programs as required, and ensuring safe, reliable machine operation. The role also includes interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams, coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime, documenting maintenance activities, and providing technical support during installation, commissioning, and after-sales service. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and adhering to safety and quality standards is an essential part of this position.

Qualifications

  • Strong electromechanical maintenance skills, including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in industrial machinery.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs (programming, modification, and diagnostics) and industrial automation controls in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices related to industrial equipment, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe use of tools and testing instruments.
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent vocational qualification).
  • Experience working with sheet metal or fabrication machinery (e.g., press brakes, shearing, laser cutting, plate rolling) is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, PLC software tools, and maintenance management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills in English; ability to interact with colleagues, suppliers, and customers in a professional manner.
