You will be the point of contact for all matters relating to workforce planning. Your focus will be on developing reliable, high-quality and robust workforce planning for field staff. In doing so, you will be in regular contact with field staff and the relevant business units.

Rail Force One Germany, based in Duisburg, specialises in freight transport with our reliable train drivers and high-performance trains, ensuring that freight arrives safely at its destination.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Capacity planning on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

Rostering for office and field staff, including train drivers, shunters and wagon supervisors

Coordinating duty rosters with staff

Commissioning external service providers to supply staff

Drawing up duty instructions

Monitoring of staff planning and its implementation

Planning staff deployment

Monitoring and ensuring staff competencies

Prioritising measures and tasks

KPI tracking, analyses and monitoring of relevant key performance indicators

Development and implementation of improvement measures

Reaching agreements with suppliers regarding the required capacity

Drawing up duty rosters in accordance with working time regulations

Requirements: What you’ll bring to the role:

Basic knowledge of operational processes within a railway company

Ideally, several years’ operational experience in the transport and logistics sector

Business-level German and fluent written and spoken English

Knowledge of the relevant legal and operational regulations, in particular the Working Hours Act and the Safety Management System; knowledge of the Railcube system is an advantage

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a customer-focused approach

An analytical, structured and solution-oriented approach to work

A high degree of flexibility and accuracy, as well as the ability to react quickly even when requirements change

A networked and cross-functional approach across the entire operational process chain

A positive, proactive and responsible attitude
