About the Role
We are looking for an Application Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Gore Cover business. In this role, you will provide technical support for composting applications around the world. This person will enable sales growth at existing and new customers. We are a global team which develops, manufactures, and sells products in the composting/waste/sustainability market. The ideal candidate for this role would be energized by environmental sustainability, passionate about solving technical problems and providing exceptional customer experience.
This role is based in Putzbrunn, Germany.
Responsibilities
Partner with Field Sales and Product Specialist to drive growth of existing products in target end uses. This includes supporting the sales team in strategic selling and market assessment activities as the application expert
Translating governmental regulations related to environmental sustainability into actionable product characteristics and features
Respond promptly to customer requests for technical support, including quality issues and/or integration issues in partnership with operations, field sales associates and product specialists globally
Leverage customer relationships and market access as a key member of account and product teams to support matching internal capabilities with customer needs
Verify and validate that existing products meet fitness for use based on customer application and regulatory requirements
Ensuring fitness for use of products by aligning product performance to internal/external testing and specifications
Partner with the product and technical team to analyze competitive alternatives and assess Gore’s product positioning and value proposition
Required Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Sustainability or Engineering (Materials Science or Mechanical preferred) or Market and Product experience specifically tailored composting or environmental sustainability
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field working in hands on, outdoor environments
Strong interpersonal skills rooted in the ability to positively influence, build long-term relationships and network with customers as well as colleagues
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
Proven ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects and/or customer support activities
Proven ability to create and communicate comprehensive technical reports using analytical, problem solving, creative thinking, and reasoning skills
Ability to influence cross functional teams to drive results internally and externally
Ability to travel up to 50% globally with the possibility of short-term international assignments
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the field of sustainability
Experience with SalesForce or equivalent CRM (Customer Relationship Management) & SAP or equivalent ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software
Minor/course work in finance and accounting or equivalent 3 years’ experience.
