Job description

At ZEISS Extended Reality (XRX), a newly established global Strategic Business Unit in the scale-up phase, we are dedicated to innovation and excellence. Your Role

Support prototype and sample production across multiple process steps: injection molding, optical surfacing, coating, bonding, CNC manufacturing and final assembly.

Prepare equipment, materials, and tooling for development trials according to work instructions.

Execute test runs and production trials under guidance of development engineers.

Perform quality inspections and measurements at each process step using appropriate measurement equipment.

Document process parameters, cycle times, material usage, and quality results accurately.

Maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on production equipment across all process areas.

Prepare samples for internal testing, customer demonstrations, and external laboratory analysis.

Handle materials safely and maintain organized inventory of components, consumables, and test samples.

Support equipment cleaning, preventive maintenance, and workspace organization.

Collaborate with development engineers to implement process adjustments and validate new procedures.

Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations for handling chemicals, adhesives, and coatings.

Your Profile

Completed apprenticeship, vocational training or certified technician in precision mechanics, optics, plastics technology, mechatronics, or related technical field; candidates with equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing also encouraged to apply.

Practical experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment preferred.

Comfortable working with production equipment and eager to learn new processes.

Ability to follow work instructions and process specifications reliably.

Meticulous attention to detail and systematic approach to documentation.

Flexible, hands-on mentality with willingness to work across different process areas.

Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and colleagues from different disciplines.

Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Responsible handling of materials, including chemicals and adhesives, following safety guidelines.

Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.
