The Role

At Genmab, we are committed to creating an exceptional employee experience that enables our people to do their best work. As our European footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR Operations professional who enjoys working across borders, navigating complexity, and making HR processes simple, compliant, and scalable.

As Manager, HR Operations Europe, you will be the trusted HR Operations expert supporting Genmab’s people and business across Europe, with Germany as a key area of responsibility. Strong, hands-on knowledge of HR Operations and employment requirements in Germany, together with fluency in German, is essential for this role. In addition, you will bring solid HR Operations experience and knowledge across multiple European countries.

This role will be based in Genmab’s office in Munich, Germany. You will coordinate HR Operations across both established and emerging European markets, partnering closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, Legal, Finance, and HR Directors to deliver compliant, efficient, and people-focused HR operations.

Whether supporting HR Operations in Germany, contributing to a new country entry, or partnering with HR Directors in other established European countries, you will play an important role in enabling Genmab’s continued growth across Europe. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who combines strong expertise in Germany with broad, multi-country European HR Operations experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day HR Operations across multiple European countries, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Take specific responsibility for ensuring compliant and effective HR Operations in Germany.
  • Serve as an HR Operations subject matter expert for Germany and other European countries, providing practical guidance on country-specific employment legislation, payroll, benefits, immigration, workforce administration, and compliance.
  • Apply strong knowledge of employment requirements in Germany, including employment contracts, working time, leave, employee representation, payroll-related processes, benefits, statutory requirements, and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across HR, business functions, and external vendors to deliver consistent, compliant, and high-quality HR Operations.
  • Support workforce growth, new country entries, and ongoing HR Operations in established European countries by coordinating compliant and scalable processes.
  • Coordinate the employee lifecycle, including pre-boarding, onboarding, contractual changes, payroll preparation, benefits administration, relocation, immigration, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Workday and other HR systems, ensuring data integrity and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, operational manuals, and supporting documentation for HR Operations in Germany and across other European countries.
  • Coordinate statutory reporting and required governmental filings, partnering with external vendors and authorities where needed.
  • Monitor developments in employment legislation in Germany and across Europe and translate regulatory changes into practical HR Operations solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and optimize HR Operations processes across Europe while respecting country-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least five years of hands-on HR Operations experience within a global or international matrix organization, supporting multiple European countries.
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of HR Operations, employment legislation, compliance, payroll-related processes, benefits, and workforce administration in Germany. This is an essential requirement for the role.
  • Practical experience managing HR processes and employee lifecycle activities in Germany, either directly or in close partnership with local experts and vendors.
  • Strong HR Operations knowledge and practical experience across multiple European jurisdictions, ideally including countries such as France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Switzerland, the Netherlands, or Denmark.
  • Experience supporting business growth, organizational change, new country entries, or the implementation and improvement of scalable HR Operations processes.
  • Experience with HR systems, preferably Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, countries, and levels of seniority.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when managing HR processes and employee data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Fluency in German and English, both verbally and in writing, is required.
  • Proficiency in Italian, Spanish, or French would be a strong advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to work from Genmab’s office in Munich, Germany.
