Your Role

As (Senior) Global Insurance Manager (m/f/d), you will play a key role in shaping and developing Symrise's global insurance landscape.

Working in an international environment, you will ensure that our global insurance programs effectively support business growth, protect company assets and provide efficient risk transfer solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Operations and external insurance markets while driving continuous improvements in our insurance strategy, governance and processes.

This role offers a unique opportunity to further strengthen our global insurance function, take ownership of strategic initiatives and contribute to the future development of our risk financing approach, including captive solutions.

  • Manage and continuously enhance Symrise’s global insurance portfolio across multiple lines of coverage, ensuring adequate and cost-efficient protection for our business worldwide.
  • Coordinate international insurance programs and work closely with brokers, insurers and local entities across all regions.
  • Support insurance renewals, placement activities and tender processes while identifying opportunities to optimize coverage structures and costs.
  • Develop and implement insurance and risk transfer solutions aligned with business needs and the company’s overall risk management objectives.
  • Contribute to the further development of captive and alternative risk financing structures and help shape Symrise’s global insurance strategy.
  • Assess business risks and translate them into practical, effective insurance solutions and recommendations.
  • Monitor insurance costs, premiums and program performance, ensuring transparency and providing meaningful reporting to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support the management of insurance claims, driving efficient processes and continuous improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Operations and other business functions, acting as a key advisor on insurance-related matters.
  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with brokers and insurers while supporting negotiations and market-related initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain global insurance standards, policies and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering consistency across all regions.

About You

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or a comparable qualification.
  • Solid professional experience within corporate insurance, insurance brokerage or an insurance company.
  • Strong understanding of global insurance programs and industrial risks.
  • Experience with captive solutions and international insurance structures is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluent English is required; German is a plus.
