Job description

QC Seed Health Development Analyst

Into action

As a QC Seed Health Development Analyst at Syngenta, you help ensure that growers around the world can rely on healthy, high-quality vegetable seeds. Through your laboratory work, you contribute to the development and improvement of the methods used to detect seed pathogens. You will join the Seed Health Development team within Quality Control. Working closely with QC Operations, you will help turn scientific methods into reliable, practical tests that support our day-to-day quality control.

The challenge

Reliable seed health testing starts with strong methods and trustworthy data. In this role, you will perform laboratory experiments to support the development, optimization and validation of seed health testing methods. You will follow established protocols, carefully record your results and contribute to troubleshooting when results need further investigation. Your work will involve microbiological testing methods and techniques such as ELISA, qPCR and nucleic acid extraction. You will help generate robust data, maintain laboratory procedures and support the continuous improvement of our testing processes. We work to high standards for quality, safety and governance. At the same time, we continuously look for ways to improve and harmonize the way we work. Your observations and ideas will help us make our processes more consistent, efficient and reliable.

Your profile

  • You have a BSc or MSc in a relevant field, such as life sciences, biology, biotechnology, microbiology or a related discipline.

  • Knowledge of molecular testing methods is required (nucleic acid extraction and qPCR). Experience with ELISA and plating is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of or experience in plant pathology is a strong plus, as is familiarity with LIMS .

  • You work accurately and have a strong focus on quality.

  • You handle data (and its analysis), procedures and laboratory standards responsibly.

  • You are flexible and comfortable working in a dynamic environment, where priorities and tasks can change during the day. You enjoy adapting to what is needed and are happy to take on different activities, even when the day does not follow a fixed plan.

Take your chance!

Are you excited to combine hands-on laboratory work with contributing to healthy, reliable vegetable seeds for growers worldwide? Join our Seed Health Development team in Enkhuizen and help shape the quality standards behind tomorrow’s crops.
