JOB TITLE
Senior Systems Engineer - Pneumatic Solutions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, setup and tune demo and test systems for automotive and non-automotive applications
- Integrate different technologies and products, new developments or series parts into functional systems, including pneumatics, valves, pumps, heating, cooling, fans, support or other technologies
- Ensure internal and external customer requirements are met in time and quality
- Maintain and continuously improve and update the base hardware and software for demos (global demo platform ), which is also applied for test setups as well as in feature and technology development
- Align system function and integration with internal stakeholders
- Coordinate system setup with supporting departments, such as sample shop, test lab, electronics engineering, purchasing, simulations, product line management, product owner, marketing, core development as well as with external suppliers and customers
- Conduct test runs and tuning of software and system function
- Create documentation and manuals
- Service and repair demos systems MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Technician or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Software or Electronics or similar technical degree
- Experience in automotive engineering or product development
- Experience in control of complex systems
- Teamwork skills with a high degree of independence
- Willingness for continuous development and improvement
- Hands-on mentality with strong customer focus PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Craftsmanship training beneficial
- 5+ years of automotive experience, specifically in software development to operate physical hardware and control system behavior
- Considerable experience in/with
- Managing complex code or architecture of systems
- requirements management for software, especially for automotive
- CAD
- PCBA layout and routing (i.e. eagle, Altium)
- programming microcontrollers
- control design, state machine, feedback control, digital control
- communication protocols (I²C, wifi)
- pneumatic components and systems, heaters, fans, PWM control, DC and brushless motor control
- integrating sensors
- interfacing with data acquisition systems for testing
- measures to improve EMC
- Preferably
- Basics and machine learning
- Mobility between Gentherm locations as well as ability to visit customers as needed COMPETENCIES
