Job description

Our subscription program is a core growth pillar across our foodpanda, Yemeksepeti and foodora brands. As Director, Subscription, you will set the strategic direction and drive the full P&L for the subscription business across 14 markets in Europe and APAC, reporting directly into the VP, Growth for foodora, foodpanda and Yemeksepeti and acting as the primary voice for subscription strategy at the leadership table (C-level and country managing directors within those 3 brands).

You will define the multi-year growth agenda, build and scale a high-performing organization, and drive step-change improvements in subscriber growth, retention, and profitability. You will operate with significant autonomy, and will be shaping how the business thinks about subscription as a growth lever, not just executing an existing playbook.

You will lead and develop a team of managers and senior individual contributors, while partnering at the most senior levels with Product, Pricing, Commercial, Marketing, Quick Commerce, and country Managing Directors to embed subscription into the broader growth strategy.

This role is ideal for a seasoned strategist with a track record of building and scaling subscription, loyalty, or membership businesses, who can move fluidly between board-level strategic narrative and hands-on problem-solving, and who has the gravitas to influence and align C-suite, functional and local leadership.

Your mission

Own subscription performance end-to-end across markets: you own the subscription program’s P&L: subscriber growth, retention, program topline, and profitability.

Set the long-term strategic vision for subscription as a growth pillar, and translate it into a set of key short-, mid-, and long-term initiatives for the business and the product teams, endorsed by senior leadership.

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing multi-layered team, including managers, hiring and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

Define and execute market-specific and cross-regional growth strategies, arbitrating trade-offs and priorities across markets at scale.

Identify, test, and scale the highest-impact growth initiatives through rigorous analysis, experimentation, and structured decision-making.

Own the evolution of the subscription value proposition end-to-end, from customer insight through to product, pricing, and commercial strategy.

Act as the senior partner to Product, Pricing, Commercial, Marketing, Quick Commerce, and local leadership teams, representing subscription in cross-functional and executive forums.

Establish success metrics and governance, and present performance and strategic recommendations directly to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Experience: 10+ years in top-tier management consulting, strategy, high-growth technology, investment banking, private equity, or FMCG, with a substantial track record in subscriptions, loyalty, membership, or consumer growth businesses.

People Leadership: Proven experience building and leading multi-layered teams (including leading managers), with a track record of developing talent and shaping team structure as the business scales.

Problem Solving: Exceptional first-principles thinker, able to structure and resolve highly ambiguous, high-stakes business problems with minimal guidance.

Analytics: Deep commercial and analytical fluency: extensive experience owning P&Ls, driving ROI-based investment decisions, and making complex economic trade-offs at scale; advanced Excel/Google Sheets required, SQL strongly preferred.

Ownership: Strong bias for action and full accountability for outcomes, with the ability to operate seamlessly from board-level strategy through to hands-on execution.

Communication: Outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success influencing C-suite and senior regional leadership through structured, data-driven narratives.

Operating Style: Thrives in a fast-paced, international, matrixed environment; comfortable setting direction amid ambiguity rather than simply operating within an existing framework.
