Job description
We are looking for an experienced Wireless Network Engineer with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks. The candidate should have strong expertise in Cisco and Aruba wireless solutions, along with practical experience using wireless survey and planning tools such as Ekahau.
The role will involve wireless network design, RF planning, site surveys, deployment, optimization, performance troubleshooting, and ongoing support for large-scale enterprise and mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Wireless Network Design & Planning
Design and implement enterprise-grade wireless LAN solutions using Cisco and Aruba technologies.
Perform wireless network planning, RF design, capacity planning, and coverage analysis.
Develop wireless architecture, AP placement plans, channel plans, transmit power plans, and SSID designs.
Review floor plans and prepare detailed wireless coverage and heatmap designs.
Perform predictive wireless surveys and validate designs against project requirements.
Ensure wireless designs comply with applicable enterprise, security, and project standards.
Wireless Site Surveys & Optimization
Conduct pre-deployment, post-deployment, and troubleshooting wireless surveys using Ekahau and similar tools.
Perform active and passive surveys and analyze:
RSSI
SNR
Channel utilization
Co-channel interference (CCI)
Adjacent-channel interference (ACI)
Noise floor
Data rates
Roaming performance
Coverage and capacity
Prepare and analyze Ekahau heatmaps and survey reports.
Identify RF coverage gaps, interference sources, poor-performing areas, and capacity limitations.
Recommend AP relocation, antenna changes, channel optimization, and transmit-power adjustments.
Cisco & Aruba Wireless
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers / Cisco Catalyst Wireless solutions.
Configure and troubleshoot Aruba Mobility Controllers, Aruba Central, and Aruba Access Points.
Configure WLANs/SSIDs, RF profiles, AAA, authentication, roaming, QoS, and security policies.
Troubleshoot wireless client connectivity, authentication, DHCP, DNS, roaming, and performance issues.
Work with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax wireless technologies and understand Wi-Fi 5/Wi-Fi 6 environments.
Troubleshoot enterprise wireless issues using controller/AP logs, packet captures, client statistics, and RF information.
Perform firmware upgrades, configuration changes, backups, and wireless infrastructure maintenance.
Network Integration & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues across the complete network infrastructure, including:
Access Points
Wireless Controllers
Access switches
Core switches
DHCP/DNS
AAA/RADIUS
Firewalls
Network management platforms
Analyze packet captures using Wireshark for advanced troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot VLAN, trunking, DHCP, ARP, routing, multicast, and network access issues affecting wireless clients.
Analyze client roaming and handoff behavior and optimize wireless configurations accordingly.
Coordinate with Network, Security, Server, and Application teams for end-to-end issue resolution.
Implementation & Commissioning
Execute wireless installation, configuration, commissioning, and integration activities.
Validate AP connectivity, controller communication, SSID availability, authentication, and network reachability.
Perform post-installation wireless surveys and compare actual performance against design requirements.
Prepare test procedures, test reports, configuration documentation, and as-built wireless documentation.
Support FAT/SAT, site acceptance, and performance testing activities where required.
Monitoring & Support
Monitor wireless infrastructure performance and identify recurring issues.
Analyze alarms, alerts, client health, AP health, RF performance, and utilization.
Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for wireless network incidents.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate wireless configuration and network documentation.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with Aruba Wireless solutions.
Good knowledge of Cisco and Aruba Access Points and Wireless LAN Controllers/management platforms.
Strong practical experience with Ekahau Survey / Ekahau AI Pro or equivalent wireless survey tools.
Experience in predictive wireless design and physical wireless site surveys.
Good understanding of RF fundamentals and Wi-Fi technologies.
Strong knowledge of:
802.11 protocols
2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 6 GHz bands
RSSI and SNR
CCI / ACI
Channel utilization
Roaming
MIMO
OFDMA
Wi-Fi 5 / Wi-Fi 6 / Wi-Fi 6E
Knowledge of VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, and switching.
Experience with 802.1X, RADIUS, WPA2/WPA3, and enterprise wireless security.
Experience with Wireshark and wireless packet analysis.
Ability to troubleshoot complex wireless connectivity and performance issues.
Certifications
Preferred certifications include:
Cisco CCNP Enterprise / CCNA
Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Wireless Design / Implementation, where applicable
Aruba Certified Professional / Aruba ACMP or equivalent
Ekahau ECSE Design / ECSE Certification – preferred
Any additional wireless/RF certification will be an advantage.
Education
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications and practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Preferred Industry Experience

Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary technical teams.

Willingness to work on-site and outside normal working hours when required for surveys, testing, migration, and commissioning activities.
Overall Experience
6–8 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Wireless Networking, with strong hands-on expertise in Cisco and Aruba wireless solutions and practical experience in Ekahau-based wireless survey, design, optimization, and troubleshooting
Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
