Job description
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety & Security) and loss prevention policies and procedures for Cainiao's warehouse operations in the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations as well as company requirements.
2. Take responsibility for EHSS-related matters during the start-up and operation of highly automated warehouses, including high-bay automated storage systems, conveyor lines, robots/AGVs, and other automated equipment.
3. Establish and manage risk control measures for dangerous goods and lithium batteries, covering storage, handling, charging, fire prevention, emergency response, and related PGS/ADR requirements.
4. Conduct EHSS risk assessments, audits, and inspections; identify compliance gaps; and track the implementation of corrective and preventive actions through to closure.
5. Lead investigations into workplace accidents and emergency incidents, including root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions, while coordinating with relevant internal teams and external parties.
6. Work closely with operations, engineering, facilities management, and contractors to ensure EHSS requirements are integrated into on-site construction, commissioning, maintenance, and daily operations, and continuously foster a strong safety culture.
Job Requirements
1. At least 1 year of experience in EHSS, safety, or loss prevention, preferably with a background in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or other high-risk industrial environments.
2. Familiarity with occupational health and safety, environmental, and fire safety requirements in the Netherlands, including risk assessment (RI&E) and relevant personal protective equipment (PGS) regulations.
3. Practical knowledge of dangerous goods and lithium battery safety, including storage, charging, fire prevention, and emergency response.
4. Experience with automated warehousing or machinery safety, such as AS/RS, conveyors, AGV/AMR, machine guarding, emergency stop devices, and LOTO.
5. Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems. Relevant professional safety certifications are considered an advantage.
6. Fluency in English is required. Dutch proficiency is highly preferred, and Chinese ability is considered a plus. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills are essential.
