Job description

Position Overview A leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist to join its pediatric subspecialty team. The ideal candidate will provide expert diagnosis and management of endocrine and metabolic disorders in infants, children, and adolescents, while contributing to service development, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Expertise

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric endocrine disorders, including:
  • Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Growth disorders and short stature
  • Thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders
  • Puberty-related abnormalities (precocious or delayed puberty)
  • Metabolic bone diseases and calcium/phosphate disorders
  • Congenital endocrine abnormalities
  • Provide inpatient consultations for NICU, PICU, and general pediatrics.
  • Manage outpatient clinics for chronic endocrine conditions and long‑term follow‑up.
  • Interpret endocrine laboratory tests, dynamic hormone testing, and relevant imaging.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics (e.g., diabetes, obesity, genetics).

Leadership & Service Development

  • Contribute to the development and expansion of pediatric endocrine services.
  • Develop and update clinical pathways, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, audits, and clinical governance.
  • Mentor junior physicians, residents, and nursing staff.

Family & Patient Engagement

  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and long‑term management strategies clearly and compassionately.
  • Provide education on diabetes management, growth monitoring, hormone therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Support families in managing chronic endocrine conditions and navigating complex care plans.

Academic & Research Contributions

  • Participate in clinical research, case studies, and institutional review activities.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Contribute to CME programs and represent the department at conferences.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics with fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology (e.g., American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
  • Strong expertise in managing complex endocrine and metabolic disorders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.
