## About the Role

ilionx is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join its growing Data & AI team. In this role, you will work on real-world artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that move beyond experimentation and into production.

You will develop, train, test, and deploy AI models for a variety of business applications. Your work may include developing intelligent chatbots, implementing large language models, creating AI-powered copilots, and applying machine learning to improve business processes.

You will work closely with data engineers, other data scientists, cloud specialists, and customers to design and implement scalable AI solutions. The role combines hands-on technical development with practical problem-solving, allowing you to work directly on projects where AI can create meaningful impact.

## Key Responsibilities

* Develop, train, test, and implement machine learning and artificial intelligence models.

* Build production-ready AI solutions for real-world customer applications.

* Develop and integrate Generative AI solutions using modern AI technologies.

* Work with large language models (LLMs) and apply them to business use cases.

* Use prompt engineering techniques to improve the performance and reliability of AI applications.

* Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and vector search technologies.

* Develop AI-powered chatbots, copilots, and intelligent business applications.

* Work with image, video, and language models where appropriate.

* Integrate AI capabilities through APIs and SDKs.

* Use Azure AI and Azure Machine Learning to develop and deploy AI solutions.

* Collaborate with data engineers, cloud specialists, developers, and other data scientists.

* Translate customer and business requirements into practical AI and machine learning solutions.

* Test and evaluate AI models to ensure performance, reliability, and usability.

* Continuously research and apply emerging technologies in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

* Help customers identify opportunities where AI can improve processes, decision-making, and user experiences.

* Contribute ideas and technical expertise to improve data and AI projects.

## Required Skills and Qualifications

* Experience developing and implementing AI and machine learning models.

* Practical knowledge of Generative AI and large language models.

* Experience with prompt engineering and LLM-based applications.

* Experience working with the Azure technology stack.

* Knowledge of Azure AI and Azure Machine Learning.

* Experience integrating AI capabilities through APIs or SDKs.

* Experience working with image, video, or language models.

* Strong programming skills in Python.

* Understanding of modern AI and machine learning development practices.

* Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

## Education and Experience

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a developer, with a focus on Data & AI.

* Demonstrated experience building and implementing AI solutions in practical environments.

* Strong interest in continuously developing your knowledge of AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies.

* Fluent Dutch language skills, both written and spoken, are required.
