Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi is looking for an efficient, passionate, and team-oriented Engineering Supervisor to join our dynamic team! Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi, the first Holiday Inn property in Abu Dhabi, welcomes guests with 203 modern and stylish rooms , complemented by a diverse selection of dining, entertainment, and meeting facilities. Our hotel offers a variety of unique food and beverage experiences, from international dining at Silk Route Café to vibrant evenings at Thirty 1st Bar & Lounge , featuring stunning views of the Abu Dhabi skyline. Guests can also enjoy an authentic Arabic social experience at Hubbly Bubbly , our shisha café, or indulge in the casual dining experience at Stock Burger Co ., offering premium burgers, craft brews, and a relaxed atmosphere.

What's the job? As an Engineering Supervisor , you will support the Engineering team in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning hotel for our guests and colleagues. You will supervise daily maintenance activities, coordinate work assignments, and ensure that hotel facilities and equipment are maintained to the required standards in line with IHG brand expectations and local requirements. You will also contribute to operational efficiency through preventive maintenance, teamwork, and responsible use of hotel resources.

A little taste of your day-to-day: The duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities to ensure hotel facilities and equipment are maintained to the required standards.
  • Assign and follow up on maintenance requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests to support guest comfort and satisfaction.
  • Carry out regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, outlets, and back-of-house areas to identify maintenance requirements.
  • Support and guide Engineering colleagues through coaching, on-the-job training, and clear communication.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment and facilities remain safe, functional, and operational.
  • Maintain proper handling, storage, and care of engineering tools, equipment, spare parts, and hotel assets.
  • Ensure compliance with IHG standards, health and safety requirements, local regulations, and hotel engineering procedures.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance concerns promptly, following up on corrective actions.
  • Support energy and water conservation, waste reduction, and other sustainability initiatives through responsible use of hotel resources.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate outstanding issues to the Chief Engineer.
  • Support emergency response procedures and assist in ensuring the hotel is prepared for operational emergencies.

What We Need From You The ideal candidate must meet the legal requirements to work in the UAE. The candidate should possess the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar role within an international hotel environment, including:

  • Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or relevant training in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, or a related engineering field.
  • Ideally, 2–4 years' experience in hotel engineering or a similar environment, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of general hotel maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and building services.
  • Relevant technical certification or license as required by local/government authorities.
  • Good communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective time management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, troubleshoot issues, and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
