VIE - Civil Infrastructure Projects Engineer - Abu Dhabi

In accordance with the provisions of Article L122-1 of the National Service Code, only candidates aged 18 to 28 and European nationals are eligible for this mission offered as a VIE.

THE ROLE

CMA Terminals Holding is looking for a Civil Engineer V.I.E. who will assist local Facility Manager of our new CMAT Khalifa terminal in Abu-Dhabi; In the meantime, he will conduct site missions including due diligence, supervision, and coordination assistance on various infrastructure projects across the Middle-East / Indian-Ocean regions (e.g.: Oman, Egypt, Saudi, Kenya and India) within CMA CGM terminals’ portfolio (CMA Terminals +Terminal Link).

Based in U.A.E. - Abu Dhabi

Reporting locally to CMAT-K CTO at Khalifa Port, with functional reporting to CMATH Head of Infrastructures.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

1) Follow-up specific Terminal infrastructure projects in CMAT-Khalifa, in support to local project implementation team and to the Facilities Manager, such as Phase 2 expansion and cold ironing projects.

2) Assist Ho-CMATH Infrastructure team in the implementation of all civil engineering projects, whether these are greenfield, brownfield quay and yard expansions or M&A projects, from feasibility, capex estimate and due diligence to design, execution, and final handover, including warranty period.

• Within existing terminals, provide, guidance, monitor progress and intervene, when necessary, with supervision.

• For new terminals, initiate first steps of studies or surveys, structure project engineering, preparing terms of reference, request for proposals and contract award to specific consultants.

More generally:

• Ensure compliance with contractual scope and specifications, schedule, and budget

• Coordinate services of Owner’s Engineers, technical consultants and site surveyors.

• Manage construction contracts and interfaces with all relevant disciplines, including equipment supply, IT, HSSE, and environmental and social matters.

• Work closely with Head Office technical functions and the relevant terminal teams to ensure works are compatible with operational constraints.

• Provide regular reports to Head Office, including CAPEX and schedule KPIs.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

• Master’s degree in Civil-Engineering; previous internship experience in Port/Logistics or Maritime construction or engineering, ideally within container terminal business.

• Efficient in planning, budget and contract management; Ability to deep dive analysis and documentation. Hand’s on in MS Project, CAD, Excel, Powerpoint etc.

• Good communication skills in English, effective in a multicultural environment.

• Detailed and teamwork oriented.

• Willingness to travel across the Middle-East / Indian-Ocean regions for site missions.

LE RÔLE

CMA Terminals Holding recherche un Ingénieur Génie Civil en VIE qui viendra en appui au Responsable Facilities local de notre nouveau terminal CMAT Khalifa à Abu Dhabi.

En parallèle, il/elle effectuera des missions sur site incluant des due diligences, de la supervision et une assistance à la coordination sur divers projets d’infrastructures dans la région Moyen-Orient / Océan Indien (ex. : Oman, Égypte, Arabie Saoudite, Kenya, Inde) au sein du portefeuille des terminaux du groupe CMA CGM (CMA Terminals + Terminal Link).

Hiérarchique local : CTO de CMAT-K (Khalifa Port)

Fonctionnel : Responsable Infrastructures de CMATH (siège)

QU'ALLEZ-VOUS FAIRE ?

1) Suivi des projets d’infrastructures spécifiques au terminal CMAT Khalifa, en soutien à l’équipe locale de mise en œuvre et au Responsable Facilities, tels que : L’extension de la Phase 2

Le projet de cold ironing (alimentation électrique à quai des navires).

2) Assistance à l’équipe Infrastructures du siège (CMATH) pour la réalisation de tous les projets de génie civil, qu’il s’agisse :

• De greenfield (nouveaux terminaux),
• D’extensions de quais et de zones de stockage (brownfield),
• Ou de projets de fusions-acquisitions (M&A),
• De l’étude de faisabilité, l’estimation des CAPEX et la due diligence jusqu’à la conception, l’exécution, la réception finale et la période de garantie.
• Pour les terminaux existants : conseil, suivi des avancées et intervention en supervision si nécessaire.
• Pour les nouveaux terminaux : lancement des premières études ou levés topographiques, structuration de l’ingénierie projet, préparation des termes de référence (TdR), appels d’offres et attribution de contrats à des consultants spécialisés.

De manière générale :

• Garantir le respect du périmètre contractuel, des spécifications, du planning et du budget.
• Coordonner les prestataires : ingénieries propriétaire (Owner’s Engineers), consultants techniques et géomètres.
• Gérer les contrats de construction et les interfaces avec les autres disciplines (fourniture d’équipements, IT, HSSE, environnement et enjeux sociaux).
• Collaborer étroitement avec les services techniques du siège et les équipes des terminaux pour s’assurer de la compatibilité des travaux avec les contraintes opérationnelles.
• Produire des rapports réguliers pour le siège, incluant les KPIs CAPEX et planning.

QUI RECHERCHONS-NOUS ?

• Diplôme : Master en Génie Civil.
• Expérience : Stage préalable dans les ports/logistique, construction maritime ou ingénierie portuaire, idéalement dans le secteur des terminaux conteneurs.

Compétences clés :

• Maîtrise de la planification, gestion de budget et de contrats.
• Capacité d’analyse approfondie et de rédaction de documentation technique.
• Maîtrise des outils : MS Project, CAD, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellente communication en anglais (langue de travail), aisance en environnement multiculturel.
• Rigueur, sens du détail et esprit d’équipe.

Mobilité : Disponibilité pour des missions sur site dans la région Moyen-Orient / Océan Indien.
