Excavator Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to operate excavators and other heavy earthmoving equipment for excavation, trenching, loading, grading, backfilling, and material-handling activities. The operator will work closely with site supervisors and ground teams to complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently at construction and project sites.
• Perform excavation, digging, trenching, grading, backfilling, and earthmoving works.
• Load, move, and handle soil, sand, rocks, debris, and other materials as instructed.
• Conduct daily pre-start and post-operation inspections of the excavator.
• Check hydraulic systems, engine oil, coolant, tracks, attachments, and other critical components.
• Report mechanical faults, damage, or maintenance requirements immediately to the supervisor.
• Follow instructions from site supervisors, engineers, and project managers.
• Maintain safe working distances from workers, vehicles, underground utilities, and structures.
• Follow all company, project, and HSE/safety procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the machine and work area.
• Carry out basic routine maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, and fluid checks.
• Use excavator attachments correctly and safely.
• Coordinate with banksmen, ground workers, and other equipment operators.
• Complete assigned work within project schedules and productivity requirements.
• Maintain proper care and cleanliness of company equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid UAE Heavy Equipment/Excavator Operator license or certification, as applicable.
• Minimum 1–2 years of excavator operating experience; UAE experience is preferred.
• Experience operating crawler/wheeled excavators and related heavy equipment.
• Good knowledge of excavation, trenching, earthmoving, loading, and grading operations.
• Knowledge of basic excavator maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of construction-site safety and HSE procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with supervisors and ground crews.
• Physically fit and capable of working outdoors and in demanding site conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours/overtime when required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, or heavy transport projects is an advantage.

Recent Abu Dhabi excavator-operator vacancies commonly require a valid UAE heavy-equipment license, equipment inspection/maintenance skills, and 2+ years of experience; oil & gas/HSE experience is particularly valuable for industrial projects. IIndeed+1

Preferred Candidate

License: Valid UAE Excavator/Heavy Equipment Operator license
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Industry Experience: Construction / Earthworks / Infrastructure / Oil & Gas preferred
Availability: Candidates available in the UAE for immediate joining/trade test may be preferred.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
