Civil Engineer

Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer – 7+ Years Experience

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our contracting team in Dubai. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of practical construction experience, with strong knowledge of site execution, structural and architectural works, subcontractor management, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise civil and construction works across projects.
• Oversee structural, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, screeding, tiling, façade, and finishing works.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and technical documents.
• Coordinate civil works with architectural, structural, MEP, and subcontractor teams.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, clashes, and site issues before and during execution.
• Manage site engineers, supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and labour teams.
• Monitor daily site activities, manpower, materials, equipment, and productivity.
• Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
• Prepare and coordinate RFIs, inspections, material approvals, and other technical submissions.
• Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections and approvals.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or construction issues.
• Assist with quantity verification, variations, subcontractor claims, and cost control.
• Ensure proper quality control and compliance with UAE construction and safety requirements.
• Manage snagging, rectification works, and project handover.
• Provide practical solutions to site problems and ensure work progresses efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of Civil Engineering / construction experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong hands-on construction-site and project execution experience.
• Previous UAE/GCC experience strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of Dubai/UAE construction practices and authority requirements.
• Strong ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience coordinating consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, quality control, and site management.
• Ability to independently manage significant portions of a construction project.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant construction/project management software.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Preferred Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on Civil Engineer with strong site experience, not someone with primarily office or design experience. The candidate should be comfortable managing day-to-day construction activities, supervising subcontractors and site teams, coordinating with consultants, solving technical issues, and taking responsibility for delivering works according to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
