Bookkeeper | Music & Entertainment | Berlin, Germany

We’re working with an established international music and entertainment business looking for a Bookkeeper to join its Berlin-based finance team.

The Role

This is a hands-on bookkeeping position covering a broad range of accounting responsibilities, with ownership across the German entity and regular interaction with both internal teams and external finance partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full-cycle, double-entry bookkeeping through to trial balance
  • Supporting year-end accounts preparation
  • Managing billing, invoicing and credit control
  • Monitoring debtors and creditors and producing regular reports
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Supporting payroll and ensuring compliance with German tax regulations
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial systems
  • Liaising with banks, auditors, advisors and relevant authorities
  • Working closely with external accounting partners
  • Supporting improvements to financial processes and reporting
  • Maintaining appropriate financial records and filing systems
  • Providing wider support to the finance function as required

About You

We’re looking for someone with strong German accounting and bookkeeping experience who is comfortable taking ownership within a busy, international environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience with German accounting and bookkeeping
  • A strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial processes
  • Experience with German VAT and statutory reporting
  • Fluency in English, German language skills preferred
  • Strong Excel / MS Office skills
  • Experience with accounting software; Xero experience advantageous
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders

Please Note: This is a full-time, onsite position in Berlin, Germany, 5 days per week
