Your role and responsibilities
As a Real Estate Portfolio Strategy Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and executing ABB Switzerland’s real estate portfolio strategy, with a strong focus on investment, optimization, and divestment projects for ABB‑owned and leased sites.
You will manage complex and often confidential initiatives, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders (Business, Legal, Controlling, Accounting, Tax, Public Affairs) as well as external consultants, authorities, and transaction partners. Your ability to navigate financial, legal, and operational topics in parallel, while maintaining governance and timelines, will be critical to your success.

You will be mainly accountable for
Lead the development and execution of ABB's real estate portfolio and workplace strategies, ensuring alignment with business priorities, growth plans, and workplace transformation objectives while driving portfolio efficiency, occupancy optimization, cost effectiveness, and long-term value creation.
Manage complex real estate transactions and portfolio initiatives, including investments, divestments, consolidations, restructurings, lease events, and workplace transformation projects across owned and leased facilities, ensuring compliance with governance processes, financial targets, approval requirements, and risk management standards.
Drive portfolio performance and decision-making through robust financial and operational analysis, including business case development, occupancy cost assessments, ROI evaluations, scenario modeling, utilization reviews, vacancy analysis, and portfolio recommendations to support local and global senior management.
Act as a senior business partner and project leader, collaborating with business, finance, legal, HR, procurement, landlords, developers, authorities, and external advisors to forecast future space demand, oversee due diligence and lease negotiations, and deliver real estate solutions that enhance employee experience, sustainability performance, operational effectiveness, and financial outcomes.
Qualifications for the role
Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate real estate, portfolio management, development, transactions, or a related field, with solid knowledge of the Swiss real estate and construction market.
Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business Administration, Finance, or comparable discipline.
Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, evaluate investment and divestment business cases, assess risks and returns, and support fact‑based decision‑making at management level.
Entrepreneurial, proactive, and service‑oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence interacting at senior management level.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Fluency in German and English is essential.
