Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who design and build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Supply Chain Manager located in Stuttgart, Germany.

Reporting to the Sr. Director Supply Chain Management the Supply Chain Manager role will be responsible for driving supply chain strategies, leveraging technologies and know how of our key suppliers, supporting the local design teams and supporting Automotive quotes globally, to provide Flex and our Customers with a strategic market advantage.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and implement global supply chain strategies based on customer requirements to establish flexible, robust, competitive and resilient supply chains that meet our expectations related to inventory turnover, annual productivity and margin.

  • Drive strategic procurement initiatives to optimize cost and generate value.

  • Be the lead interface between our design team and suppliers to identify leading technology and competitive advantages for new Electrification products for leading Automotive OEM’s and Tier-1’s.

  • Lead the sourcing process for key components related to our design projects that increase our product’s performance and market competitiveness.

  • Be the first contact point for our customers related to all material topics: demand planning, MRP load, inventory turnover, material pricing, VA/VE, multi sourcing and risk mitigation as well as liability coverage and other contractual topics.

  • Work closely with Business Development to win new business opportunities (quotes) and to offer competitive best-in-class supply chain solutions to our customers.

  • Support New Product Introduction and New Product Launches  and participate in customer meetings together with Program- and Account Management.

  • Interface with Flex internal organizations: business development, manufacturing site, program management, commodity management and supplier quality.

  • Frequent national and international travel up to ~ 25%

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management

  • Completed education in Industrial Engineering, Business Management or in Electronics

  • Basic Technical understanding of Automotive Electronics is an advantage

  • Experience in Automotive business environment (OEM, Tier-1)

  • Experience in Planning and Inventory Management

  • Good understanding of Financial Basics (Margin, P&L, OP)

  • Enthusiasm to work & communicate with customers, suppliers, designers and internal teams

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent English language skills written and spoken form. German language skills would be a plus.
