Job description
Our sister company, Barbuda Electromechanical Works LLC, is looking for an experienced and competent MEP Storekeeper with strong experience in high-rise building projects in the UAE.
Job Summary
The MEP Storekeeper will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and controlling all mechanical, electrical and plumbing materials, tools and equipment. The candidate must maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that materials are properly stored, protected and available according to project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and record all incoming MEP materials, tools and equipment.
- Verify delivered quantities and specifications against purchase orders, delivery notes and approved material submittals.
- Coordinate with the procurement, QA/QC and engineering teams for material inspections and acceptance.
- Report damaged, incorrect, missing or non-compliant materials immediately.
- Arrange proper storage and identification of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm and ELV materials.
- Maintain separate storage areas for approved, rejected, damaged and returned materials.
- Ensure that materials are protected from damage, moisture, dust, corrosion and improper handling.
- Issue materials only against approved Material Requisition or Material Issue Vouchers.
- Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, returns, transfers and current stock balances.
- Update stock registers, bin cards and the company’s ERP or inventory-control system regularly.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform the procurement team of shortages in advance.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile the results with inventory records.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly material receipt, issue and stock reports.
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors regarding material requirements and delivery schedules.
- Maintain records of tools and equipment issued to employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor the return and condition of issued tools and equipment.
- Maintain calibration records for testing instruments and measuring equipment where applicable.
- Ensure proper documentation for material transfers between projects, stores and departments.
- Coordinate the return or replacement of surplus, damaged or rejected materials.
- Maintain proper housekeeping, labelling, access control and safety within the store.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s material-control, quality, health and safety procedures.
- Support internal and external inventory audits and provide the required records.
- Assist the project and commercial teams with material reconciliation and final stock reports.
- Prepare complete material records for project close-out and handover.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
- Six to ten years of relevant storekeeping experience in the MEP construction industry.
- Proven experience as an MEP Storekeeper on high-rise building projects.
- Strong UAE experience in MEP material and inventory control is required.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm and ELV materials.
- Ability to identify different MEP materials, tools, fittings, equipment and their specifications.
- Good knowledge of material receiving, issuing, stock control and documentation procedures.
- Experience in preparing Goods Received Notes, Material Issue Vouchers, Material Return Notes and stock reports.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping and inventory-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and relevant ERP or inventory software.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site-material requirements.
