Job description

Our sister company, Barbuda Electromechanical Works LLC, is looking for an experienced and competent Electrical Foreman with strong experience in high-rise building projects in the UAE.

Job Summary

The Electrical Foreman will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical installation activities at the project site. The candidate must ensure that electrical works are completed safely and efficiently according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and the construction programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation works, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm and ELV systems.
  • Allocate daily work activities to electricians and helpers and monitor their productivity.
  • Read and interpret approved electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics and technical specifications.
  • Ensure the proper installation of conduits, cable trays, trunking, cables, distribution boards, switchgear, lighting fixtures and related equipment.
  • Coordinate daily site activities with electrical engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and other trades.
  • Verify work locations, cable routes, containment layouts, equipment positions, sleeves and openings before installation.
  • Ensure that all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications and UAE authority requirements.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, tools and equipment required for daily activities.
  • Request materials in advance and ensure their proper use, handling and storage.
  • Check completed works before raising inspection requests to the QA/QC team and consultant.
  • Identify installation issues and report technical problems to the Electrical Site Engineer.
  • Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, plumbing, civil, structural and architectural activities.
  • Prevent clashes, rework, material wastage and delays through proper planning and coordination.
  • Supervise cable pulling, glanding, termination, panel installation and equipment connections.
  • Support testing and commissioning of electrical, fire alarm and ELV systems.
  • Ensure rectification of inspection comments, non-conformities and snagging items within the required time.
  • Maintain daily records of manpower, completed quantities, material usage and site progress.
  • Enforce approved method statements, risk assessments and safe work practices.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure workers use the required personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access within all electrical work areas.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of electricians, helpers and subcontractor teams.
  • Report daily progress, manpower productivity and site constraints to the Electrical Site Engineer.
  • Complete assigned electrical works according to the approved programme and project deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

  • ITI, Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Six to ten years of relevant electrical construction experience.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Foreman on high-rise building projects.
  • Strong UAE experience in high-rise building construction is required.
  • Good knowledge of power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm and ELV systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods, tools, materials and safety requirements.
  • Ability to lead electricians, helpers and subcontractor teams effectively.
  • Strong site coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to monitor manpower productivity, material usage and work quality.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
